lined?? IE, is there any kind of "protective" coating on the inside that would prevent me welding on it?? I'm wanting to add "blocks" on the under side of the frame to add real frame sliders IE, the XBRR. It's the area circled in green in the pic.

that was like last summer, it was just to get it to the tuners, he customized the cover so they fit under it and put an intercooler on it
 
Might want to research the welded sliders.
I belive they stopped using them because it causes the fuel tank to crack and leak.
Welding to aluminum reduces strength .
 
How True Rt, some of the add ons are great to look at however if the Bike goes down the damage could be far greater than if the extras weren't on. The normal axle sliders are a good investment that works. Be careful where you mount those nice extras yes they do look good! Some of the extras are actually tougher than certain areas where mounted on our bikes. Ride Safe.*Jimi
