Your clutch cable for those of you that are coming out of your winter hibernation. [up] It is often overlooked and or neglected.

Is it possible to contaminate the primary fluid doing this? I ask because I have never done this and plan on doing it soon.

No Nub you will want it dry so you will never forget what they did

Trill you will be ok, If you are going to have a problem you would be getting water in your primary already. It has a seal at the end of it.

so when I force lube down the line it wont make it all the way down to the primary? I figured it would follow the cable all the way down and exit with the cable end. I have not looked in there yet so i dunno. :) Thanks

Yea if you have water in your primary usually the seal at the end of the cable is the culprit, letting the water in.

How sure are you that your supposed to lube it? A lot of the newer lines are coated in a plastic of some sort and shouldn't be lubed. I don't know if that includes Buell or not. I know Harley's are like that.

This is directly from the 06' owners manual.

"Clutch control cable adjustment is required to compensate for normal clutch lining wear. Oil and adjust the clutch control cable with LUBIT-8 TUFOIL CHAIN AND CABLE LUBE (Part No. 94968-85TV) at proper mileage intervals"

Well, there you have it, thanks Gator. My clutch cable broke the other day and I am going to replace it today. It seems pretty straight forward...anybody have any experience doing it?

Gator, great, thank you sir!

03Firebolt, I don't, but I have heard it's very straight forward and easy to do.
