So the foam is extremely well glued down to the seat cover guess my idea of shaving a little off the to isn't going to work.

Excellent information .... and that's not sarcasm there ... I've shaved the foam on several dirtbike seats before recovering them and wouldn't have considered something like that to be a problem on these seats ... looks like I was wrong in my assumptions lol

Yea, you can still shave from the bottom or recover with a different foam setup. I didn't do it but one of my tall city seats has been recovered and dropped. looks & feels more like a comfy low or normal height S seat now.

Gotcha ... I did an R-S tail swap on mine and the S seat seems to do just fine for me ... I'll be slapping on a tail riser set soon though ... I'm waiting to see how that changes up the feel of the seat and the stance while sitting on it ...

I took my seat to a shop and they cut it down just fine. Charged an arm n leg though. But I needed seat lower on my 1203as

Maybe this is why they charged an arm and a leg ;)

I've easily pulled the cover from the foam on my 650r... actually had a thin plastic (like bag) between them.

There's many ways to skin a cat (or a seat in this case!). A hot wire or electric turkey carving knife will allow you to work around just about any obstacle you can encounter under a seat cover. As others suggested above, you can remove foam from the bottom.
