drive belt

i have a 2000 blast that is converted to a dual sport. i have had it for a year and gone through 2 belts. for some reason the belt is snapping. any ideas??

how was it converted to a dual sport? if a spacer was put in to increase ground clearance there is probably too much tension on the belt.

it has a arage made exhaust that i have now replaced with stock. and the tires are knoby not street. there doesn't appear to be a spacer. its actuly the oppisiste there is not enough tension on the belt. while tring to fix this problem i decovered the buell does not have a tensioner like most bikes.
