Drop in power during accel

Posted in the wrong forum initially...
Problem-
I drilled holes in the inner air box and now am experiencing a power loss during quick accel between 3500 and 4000 RPM. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem? I'll be honest...I'm not a mechanical genius, but am eager to learn how to work on the bike. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Mine has been doing the same thing since I changed the exhaust. (09 XB9SX)

I've heard I need a new ECM, however Erik Buell Racing doesn't have any for an 09. So I'm stuck with this I guess.

Curious to see what the replies are.

after i did my exhaust this happened to me too...I still have to do a breather mod and have been told that a tps reset and some ecm work would help...although that is easier for me with a 05 9sx.

An '03 xb9s. I've only opened the air box.

Buy an ECMSpy cable off of Xoptiinside.com or Ebay. In the meantime, download the tuning manual off of www.ECMSpy.com and read up as much as you can. Once familiar, you could start by at least flashing a Race Map to your bike OR you could just do the whole smash and start Datalogging and modifying maps right off the bat. - (Datalogging)

But first things first though, get familiar with ECMSpy. Lots of good threads on here and more on Buelletinboard.
