As a few have said in older threads, these things are crap. Here is why I think so:

Right now I have the Q2s on my 1125R (came on the bike when i bought it, they now have about 3K on them), and like a few have said before they feel terrible in corners and always want to step out on you. One guy I ride with is running the same tires on his S1000RR and tells me that it is my imagination, his feel great. What do you want to bet that is the traction control?

However, Any time I am hitting a corner even somewhat aggressively I always feel like the damn thing is going to low side, even with conservative lean angles. Ironically it did just that today, on a corner that I have hit close to if not more than 200 times before on the only portion of the only road on the island that you can ride aggressively and not worry about running over people or being hit by a car. LUCKILY, it was at low speed and both the bike and I are fine. I picked it up, turned around, and hit the same corner again a few times. Each one feeling just as confidence uninspiring as the one where I fell. I am pretty sure the deciding factor in my "sumbeach" moment was due to poor line through the turn from being distracted by a moped that looked like it was about to pull out in front of me at the apex of the turn, which was a borderline hairpin. Still totally my fault, but I think that better tires would have stuck no problem as I wasn't even on the edge of the sidewall and carrying adequate speed to hold me up. My strips proved that I never surpassed the edge.

But long story short I strongly dislike the Q2s on my 1125R. One, they turn slow as ****. Two, they rarely hold traction and offer an interesting death wobble in a downshift. Three, they feel like **** on the sidewall. Four, they don't handle any amount of rain well. Five, they just plain won't scrub in like my Michelins did on my XB no matter hold long or hard I ride them.

Maybe they are one of the "bad batch" I have heard of. Regardless, I'm not going to put them on my bike again. I'll be putting the Michelin Power Pure 2CTs on at my next tire change, I loved them on my XB. Unless someone who has tried them on the 1125 has valid reasons as to why I shouldn't. If so I would be open to suggestions.

Just felt like sharing my $.02

Any pics of the wear? I just replaced one of the bad batch and I plan to replace the set next year with Michelin 2CT which I ran before and had great results. Sorry to hear of the low side.

Just had this talk with a few 600 jap riders, (friends of the girl never ridden with them) ive no experience on the Q2s, but they swear they are a gift from god. Last week i installed Bridgestone bt016s and i dont like um so far. I want my diablos back :(

offer an interesting death wobble in a downshift
THIS!!!! I thought it was just me and being on the track but EVERY downshift sent the back end into a huge wobble. Made me go off straight twice because im not to sure about leaning the bike over when my ass looks like a happy dog's tail.

Threw BridgeStone Battletax 016s and i dont remember havent that problem, def not that bad compared to the q2's.

I've heard just as many bad things about Q2's as good, I'll never try them. Tried Dunlop's years ago and wasn't happy with them. I've run Michelins more then anything and love the way they handle. I am currently running Pirelli Super Corsas because they were free, been just as happy with them.

im really happy with my sportmax q2. and i have a couple friends that love them just as much. i cannot understand why there is so much variance in the reviews on here. it would be unfortunate if they were part of a bad batch. ive been in some pretty heavy rain with mine too. im not doubting the op on his experience its just hard for me to understand because ive had the opposite results. now the dunlop qualifier is a pos tire.

user reviews on motorcycle superstore rate it a 4.6 out of 5 with 167 reviews and the 2ct has a 4.7 with 270 reviews. not to mention how well they did in the tire shootout test that motorcycle usa did.

Everyone rides a different way, some with poor techniques, some a little wreckless, some text book, these tires might perform well one way and not others.

IE: i tend to over throttle out of turns and step out, so an aggressive stickier tire keeps me in check, so i favore that kind. Even though many riders carry higher speeds through the same turn and harder tires.

My buddy uses the Q2's on his gsxr 750 and loves em. But I did not like either of the Dunlops I had on my rear. First I had the Q on my bike and it wore through after like a month of commuting . So I got the road smart which I thought would be kind of like the Q2 but with a little more life span for commuting. The roadsmart would break loose on me all the time! Crash, you basically described my riding style above, so perhaps that has something to do with it. But then I got a puncture in my roadsmart after a about a 2 months [mad] and the shop threw on a stinko raven 009 and let me tell you this shinko is hard to break loose! I was very impressed at how hard I could crack the throttle coming out of a turn. So yea that's my dunlop experience...sorry if it was a lil off topic.

they are a great tire maybe its the bike or the profile doesnt suit your riding style.i ride all year long and they stick good when its 30 deg out.

I'm going to do some suspension tuning before I completely write them off as a waste of dinosaur juice. I still am not going to put them back on though. Michelins were just too good to me on my XB.
