i know it's a bit early but i'll be in MD for two weeks beginning in July. My wonderful wife has offered to trailer the bike out there from TX so I can ride while I'm on RnR. I'd like to get some forum members together for a meet and greet and ride? I have a wedding that will occupy July 8th-9th and recovery on the 10th. but it looks like Saturday the 16th would be a good day? I'm from PG County but would be open to meet in a location central to every one. If you guys are down lets start seeing who would be interested and where everyone is so we can pick a place to meet.

That's my 3 day weekend, I'll head up that way for a ride. Don't know that much about Md but I figure you will probably head west into the VA mountians and I have yet to explore the northern part of my home state. So ya I'm up for it! Raz

You would be correct. thinking Shenandoah? through some mountain passes past the falls? probably plan on putting in some miles for sure. My thought would be a 08:30 Meet and Eat for breakfast hit the road as soon as we can and put down some miles. as it come closer and I get more input from others I'll start planning a route. I'd like to knock out at least 300 miles or more. If guys aren't down for such a long ride I have no problem adjusting. Would be great to get as many forum members together for some pics and some good riding.

where are you from raz?

I'm located in Lynchbugr VA, about 3 hrs from DC,2.5 to Harrisonburg VA. I already have a few streams up in that area picked out that I have not fished yet. Does not matter where we meet up as I will probably pick a campground in relation to where we meet up. Who knows, I may even splurge and get a room. Raz

id be down to meet up as long as my sched works out that weekend...im about three hrs out of DMV towards Baltimore but ive made the trip plenty before

nice, i'm familiar with woodbridge, manassas not so much and I had family used to live in Stafford. I stayed out that way for a few months when I was younger.I remember passing through warrenton maybe a party there or two.

Let me get this straight. Your wife is going to trailer the bike from TX to the DMV in July? I can't imagine what the fuel cost are going to be to trailer your bike. Have you thought about renting a bike it might save you money? Below is a link for Eagle Rider located in Chantilly VA.

We can ride out Route 211 from Warrenton to Shenandoah to the Blue ridge. That is a nice ride with some twisties.

SHHHHHHHHHH this is just the excuse I needed to buy a trailer lol. But seriously I pulled the bike home after I bought her in MD and i had a 5x8 uhaul trailer pulled by my pt cruiser. no problems the gas sucked through the smokies and until the earth flattened out through tennessee but after that it was fine. I'll check out that rental place though it might be worth it.

I'm down as always. I'm in arlington va so not that far from PG and can ride however far the ride is going.

We'll see if my bike is done by then ill be down to hang out/ ride, we can have a cook out after either way I have horseshoes grill and plenty of parking spaces and downtown leesburg within walking distance.

Yeah I don't ride on 95 at all.. F that mess. I ride 66 and dullas tollroad a lot which is easy. Fastest way to get to bolts house for me is 66 and then dullas tollroad, which sucks, but it doesn't work during rush hours. Plus bolts place is a short distance from good back roads and the mountains so.

I live north of Baltimore. I may be able to make a July run. VA mountain routes are lotsa fun...Rte 33, 250, & 11. :)

Traffic around us sucks a fat one and people with no clue how to drive without texting or emailing while driving, it is probably the worst of any place ive ever lived

LoL it's just so natural to be drive aggressively back home. I think nothing of it til I come back to Tx after visiting home and EVERYONE is courteous the slower traffic drifts to the right. on two lane back roads people will pull over to the shoulder let you pass by and smile and wave as you do so. people actually get into a you got i go you go i go merging pattern when there is build up at an exit. it truly blows my mind. The ironic thing is. TX highway speed limits even through more populated areas are usually 75-80mph. yet the beltway with 55mph limits the average speed is between 90-100mph. . .with a thousand times more traffic.

Yeah its funny to travel the country driving places. I've driven through half the country and its amazing how the driving styles changed from one area to another. Plus west coast and down south people actually watch for bikes, not around dmv though. Esp not in NOVA. Anyways I'll be home in 2 weeks so I'll do some route recon to plan a route if that's good be everyone else?
