has anyone purchased bar ends off ebay?

Im having a issue with the part that expands is too small for it to grip the inside of the bar to keep from spinning. The mirrors have a .675" wedge piece and the bars are .735" on the inside. Any ideas on what others have done?

i bought some bar end mirrors for my xb9r. i had that same problem. All i did was wrench the shit out of it until it quit spinning lol. i have about 500 miles with them on and no problems. Maybe try putting a bigger nut on the inside so they expand out more?

did you expand them first off the bike so they can grip the bar rather than just spin?

i had to just a little bit so they would work, then i had to kind of angle the mirror and used that leverage so the part that expanded didn't spin inside the bar

unfortunately the bar ends and mirrors on ebay weren't designed for the thin walled steel handlebars that Buells come with. I had the same issue until I switched bars.

ok these clamps are just crap i guess you get what you pay for... ill have to make up something good at work next week.

I wrapped the collar with electrical tape and it worked perfect they don't move at all and its been like that for four months

No problem with mine. Tightened up without any extra effort. And only $20 for the set.

I bought a clear hose from the hardware store. Forget what it was originally used for but it works great.

i tried the elec. tape but i was not satisfied with the fit. going to make up a clamp like goosenecks on older bikes.

I used electric tape as a quick fix, but haven't had problems thus far with it. Overall I was pretty pissed about them not fitting, when "Buell" was in the listing title for the item. Also, the anodization is fading into a pretty cool gunmetal color. I would be upset about that too if it didn't look kind of awesome.

yeah i would be pissed if they were more than the 17 dollars and change i paid for them shipped.

well this morning at work i got a much improved design over that crap they ship you... and yes i tried it and its 300% better! ;)

Got the bar ends installed much better hold than the hardware included. Also put my newly painted race muffler on... Not as bad as I thought it would have been.

sweet! now just remove the belt guard, reflectors, tail and stock signals and you'll be set ;)

I was unsure on having the belt exposed with the 03 setup. The cheese grater is there to keep rocks off my wife so that stays

well i have heard a bunch about belt breakage with the weaker 03 belt and i really dont want it to have a chance by getting a rock up in there...
