ebay bought steering damper

has anyone ever bought one of the 330mm or 400mm steering dampers on ebay and been able to use them on there firebolt? I currently have the Storz frame bracket and the fork bracket but i have no damper or clamp for the damper. Does anyone have any input on what i can do to make something work. I prefer to do as much work as i can myself. Any input would be helpful.
