No. Don't do that.

Bedding them (properly, as described in this thread) means NO, don't overheat them. The procedure is to gradually build up heat and let them cool completely. Any smoke and you are WAAAY over doing it.

There was no smoke with the slovakian rotor, no indication it was over heating other than discoloration. But perhaps an adjustment to the threads process concerning Buell rotors is needed? Who here has successfully used this bedding process on aftermarket rotors or for that matter OEM ones?

btw bad weather member Ross does have these rotors for sale at a much better price than ebay. Give him a little time to respond to your PM.

You have to brake smooth and lightly with front brake using mostly rear brake first 300 miles. Then you have to brake fast using front brake from 60 to 20 mph 10 times. Then you can use front brake as normal.

Bed-in / Burnishing Instructions. After installing new brake pads, make 6-to-10 stops from approximately 30-35 MPH applying moderate pressure. Make an additional 2-to-3 hard stops from approximately 40-45 MPH. Allow at least 15 minutes for the brake system to cool down.

Right from Hawk race pads.. they know how to do it

They are indeed a performance upgrade over the factory Buell XB rotor. They cool a lot faster so they don't fade as fast from heat soak.

FLUTED... lighter, cooler operation for sure, very nice! Let you know how the bed-in goes.
