i don't like hearing things like this.

i'm a noob and i'm too lazy to use the search function.

1) what is a stator ??

2) does it effect 09 XB12R's ??

The stator is the non-moving (i.e. STATionary) part of the charging system. It's basically a ring of carefully-wound wires that the magnets of the rotor work with to make electricity. At high engine temperatures they have a tendency to fail.

The XB uses a H-D motor. The stator problems in this topic concern the 1125 (with the Rotax motor).

thanks for the explanation.

i feel bad now for the 1125 guys. gotta talk to my buddy to see if he's ever replaced his or if he's ever heard about it.

BTW the stator problem only effects 09/10 models the 08 1125R has no stator issue it is a different stator.

This is why I sold my Buell and got a triumph. It is a pain to get parts but a least they stand behind their products.

Lol the other way around here. Considering part x-ing my Buell for a new Triumph as I can get parts easy. Welcome to my world!

Well I have put about 400 mile on my baby with the new Ebr Rotor and have been watching VOLTS for what ever reason LOL:D But everything seems to be running great!$750 and I have a bike THAT HAS GAVE ME JOY LIKE NO OTHER BIKE HAS!Looking forward to many more hours on her;)

Just got my bike back from the shop. Rotor and rewound stator! Bike run's great, hope it holds up and I don't have to go through this again.

Well I spoke to soon battery went dead last week had it tested and it's good so I'm thinking that the volts are to low ·I e malied ebr to ask if I can go back to original wire harness and if it would burn up the stator he said run it either way stator would be fine·

Feel your pain just cooked second stator.15000km total, looks like another rewind and upgrade rotor o joy

So the last few rides I have watched my AMPS and with running my lights on low beam the bike will run 13.4 to 14 no problem. If I run on high beam AMPS drop to 12.4 to 12.1 and I was told you need at least 12.6 and up to charge your battery. So if you want to run your high beams all the time you must convert back to original wire harness and yes EBR said with new rotor your stator will be fine.
Also talked to a fellow 1125 owner and said he had the same problem on his bike.
