thanks for the explanation.The stator is the non-moving (i.e. STATionary) part of the charging system. It's basically a ring of carefully-wound wires that the magnets of the rotor work with to make electricity. At high engine temperatures they have a tendency to fail.
The XB uses a H-D motor. The stator problems in this topic concern the 1125 (with the Rotax motor).
This is why I sold my Buell and got a triumph. It is a pain to get parts but a least they stand behind their products.
Also talked to a fellow 1125 owner and said he had the same problem on his bike.
