ECM Spy for Diagnosis

So I understand ecm spy is great for tuning your machine when you modify the intake/exhaust/etc... BUT, how usefull is it to diagnose issues, electrical per say? Like if your bike is running ******, can you just run ecm spy and get some clues as to what's going on, like will it point out certain components? OR- is it just like it will give you numeric feedback you have to be experienced to analyze?

Very usefull. It's a similiar program to what a bike shop would use. I have also been told a local shop actually does uses it near where I am in Southern, CA.

Yes, you can "EASILY" locate and reset a few different issues with the ECM Spy

Both, for the experienced, you can edit and do many others things. Figure the ECM is as huge computer/ chip, ECM Spy is a program that will allow you to access a lot of those feature then to view/edit from your Laptop/PDA.

The only things that you will be able to see wrong with your bike is the trouble codes. If you have a rubbed wire or a fouled spark plug you will not be able to use spy to find it. It will however make it easy to work on and fix issues with your bike like tps resets and static timing, read and clear trouble codes and tune the fuel maps it.

11 - Throttle position sensor
13 - Oxygen sensor
14 - Engine temperature sensor
15 - Intake air temperature sensor
16 - Battery voltage
23 - Front fuel injector
24 - Front ignition coil
25 - Rear ignition coil
32 - Rear fuel injector
33 - Fuel pump
35 - Tachometer
44 - Bank angle sensor
52, 53, 54, 55 - ECM failure
56 - Cam sync failure
