Ecmspy cable capable?

I just put my d&d pipe on my 04 xb12s. I intend on getting a K&N to go along with it. The harley dealer told me to get a direct link remapping key and put it on their dyno to the tune of about 500 bucks. american sportbike told me i don't need the key to just downlad their pre made fuel map to my ecm, they said with the ecmspy cable i could do it myself. I want to get the most bang for my buck, and like doing stuff myself. Are there other alternatives, any ideas would help.

If you get the ecmspy cable, download the program for free, and download megalog viewer, I believe it $23. you can do it yourself. Its very easy.

And you will have the ability to do lots of diagnostics plus resetting the TPS, checking static timing etc.
