The last two times I started my bike it took a few tries to stay running. It fires up no problem and goes right to proper idle running for 5 seconds and then drops hard and shuts off. It takes two attempts to stay running and when it fires up you wouldn't think it has a problem cranking over. Weather has changed alot since the tps and first ride (95 degrees), the last two rides it was 55degrees. Could the weather be causing this? Other than the starting problem the bikes rides great and ildes good when at stops, the decal popping has almost totally vanished (still the few odd ones). I've put only 150miles since the reset and 130miles of it was in the colder weather if that helps any. Like to know if anyone expericed this or has an idea what could be causing this hiccup.
I've had mine die on me if I don't let it warm up with the new EBR ECM in. If I hop on, fire it up, and ride away, sometimes it just dies almost immediately. If I let her warm up, its not an issue.
Fast response....no worries. I usually take my time putting on my gear which takes about 5mins and that was fine (stock ECM). I give the race ECM a little longer and all is fine once she's warmed up. Weird how it takes a few attempts to turnover on cold startups....shed be perfect if that didn't occur lol. Would it be a bad idea giving the throttle a light snap after first attempt to keep it goin?
Went for a ride today and have to say its getting frustrating. Took 3 attempts to start without stalling and while it idled for 10 min it sputtered and misfired. Took it for a ride to warm her up and the whole time it was hesitating and popping in all gears and rpms. Half hour ride and stopped at the lights it idles close to 1100 rpm but it still bounces from 900 to 1100 then idles a smooth 1100 and then randomly bounces again.
With the stock ECM it never varied like that. Also its decal popping just like stock and seems like its popping (backfiring) while riding and its never done that with stock (maybe once or twice when cold). Its been running hotter too and the temps here are nice and cold (62c), heat wasn't an issue before.
I don't know where to start or what to do. Ive taken the bike apart so many times and done stuff on my own since the dealer hack and do a shaddy job all the time. I fear I wont be able to conquer the issue. Riding season is coming to an end and Id love to resolve this before I have to winterize her.
