Folks who do tuning: Do you use EcmSpy or TunerPro? How did you choose?

Has anyone used both and formed an opinion?

I don't mind spending a few bucks, and would like to use whichever works better or is easier to use.

Spend the few bucks (all donated to a good cause anyways) on ECMSpy. It is much more user friendly than TunerPro. I have used both more than I care to and, unless you want to do some really weird (as in crazy) stuff with your ECM, ECMSpy is a much better choice.

Great, thanks EricZ! I couldn't ask for a more knowledgable answer.

I've got the appropriate cable and a laptop with a fresh copy of Windows 8. Now all I need is the bike.

Hopefully that will be remedied tomorrow! :)

what eric said. i have average at best computer skills and found ecmspy very easy to use on 2003-2007 XB's. a little pricey for the 2008-2010 XB's but unlike taxes...at least you know where your $ is going. never got the hang of tunerpro rt.

Can ECMSPY be used on 08+ models? I'm using TunerPro rt right now, it doesn't send to difficult. Just takes patients to setup in my experience.

I'm not speaking from personal experience, but from what I've read I believe EcmSpy before version 2.0 was available for free but did not work with 08+ models.

EcmSpy 2.0 (the current version) does work with 08+ bikes, but it requires a $75 donation be made to a children's hospital to unlock the full version.

I'm fine with that, personally. Seems like a good use of money twice over!
