engine light help

Hey, I just cut into my tail running lights to wire license plate lights. Everything now (seems to) works fine, but my engine light is on. My question is, do you think it just got triggered because I temporarily cut into the electrical, or do you think I should look into it further? If cutting into the electrical can trigger it, and it is now fixed, how do I clear the light?

cutting into the tail light circuit should not cause a cel.you can disconnect the battery or ride it.
