Just picked this up today from a guy in town. Dunno if I got a good deal...Xb race pipe and two brand new spark plugs. What would it sell for?

Awesome. Do you know what color it came from the factory? Was it stainless steel silver or was it black? It's black with steel tips right now

The early ones were silver, then later they were similar to a jet hot coating, silvery chrome look.

I have seen them go for as high as 750 for really clean, no dents.

How would I strip that off ? I'd like it to look like the original steel

It appears that they used spray paint. I would try paint stripper first. If that doesn't work. Automotive sand paper.

Thanks guys! Sounds like I got a good deal and it'll always sell fine! I'll strip the paint and see if it helps. Lucky me

Now I just need to sell my stock pipe lol

I'll use the sandpaper to get rid of the paint but has anyone fixed the rust on them? Is there anyway to get the rust off it? Will it polish somehow? Can't find a step by step online

mine is silver, factory painted...try WD-40 and green scotchbrite pad to remove the rust, afterwards clean the oil off with a rag of half and half white vinegar and water solution, mothers polish- paste form works well...just what I've done in the past when working with metal...i.e,...drive pulley

sand blast it with walnuts or use a paint stripper. also i had sold my old race pipe for $400 and it was painted black with high temp muffler paint.

^^haha a bag of nuts is about all I paid for it! But seriously..I want it to look like the silver color that is stock, not polished chrome or black or rusty. I just really want it to look like a silver brand new pipe lol. I'll see what paint stripper and sanding does. Will I have to paint it silver again if I sand it?

So u can sand it with paper then, is there any silver BBQ type paint people use? Or Buell code paint for sale?
