I didnt buy my 1125R for comfort lol. I do around 400 miles of intense riding every sunday. I have done 300 on an R6. Having to much fun to think about how it might be uncomfortable.

Too much wind noise to hear music. Besides, it is illegal in most states to use headphones while driving. Not sure if this applies to MC's.

I suppose I could shell out bucks for a BT helmet and tune out with my iPhone jamming. But if I do that, I could end up getting a phone call. That could be very distracting on twisties.
Though I suppose it would be cool to be able to shuffle my Vince Gill collection while running the hills of Tennessee and NC. Or some Daughtry while riding around Guilford County.

I did a San Diego trip, but hadn't planned on it being cold, leaving Phoenix in the 90's and going through the mountains coming into El Cajon on I8 from Alpine/Jucumba I was freezing, literally had to be in the mid 20's. Got to San Dog, bought a heavy fleece coat as a liner and better gloves for the ride back.

a note about nodding off, I used to work third shift, and was going to real estate school during the day. Rolling west on the 101Loop, in a daze completely out of it, I realize that I should have taken the I17 south ramp and ride right passed it. I try not to burn that candle anymore.

I will be going from Indy to Augusta, GA then Augusta to Miami in a 2 day period of time. Then back again a week later. Heading out end of May. I have a '03 S tail on my firebolt. Looking forward to the experience!

Hey where can i buy the drop pegs? i wanna get some only to improve the ride quality a little bit and also to be a little more comfortable. anywhere sells them for a 05 XB12S. Anyone got a pair for sale?

I rode with the stock bars on my S from STL to Jacksonville, FL in 15.5 hrs. It was 988 miles!

Last summer I rode 680 miles to Berthoud, CO in a day with the Crossroads flat bars.

This summer sometime I plan on making a 500+ mile trip from CoMo to Memphis, TN. The route I want to take take be down to Branson, Mo and go thru Arkansas by taking a scenic backroad route all the way to Memphis. Depending on time and how I feel after that I may just try to make it back home!

650,most of the way to daytona.had a bag on back seat for support and another bag on air box cover to lean on when butt started hurting.

Well it wasn't on my Buell but two years age my brother and I swam in all five great lakes in one day. Over 1100 Km in 12.5 hours. I rode a 84 GPz 750, he was on a 86 1000 Ninja, not touring bikes by any means. Our total trip around Lake Michigan and Georgian Bay was just over 2200 KM in 72 hours. That included swimming time, 2 nights camping, eating, and gas stops. Next we are looking at a mini Numb Bum. Circle Lake Michigan in 24 hours. They say it can be done nonstop in about 18 hours. Probably later this summer or early next, and I will be on the Buell this time. Wayne

I have an SS, and while it is comfortable the lack of wind protection is what gets me. At 70 the wind really wears on you after a couple hours...

wow you guys have put some miles on your bikes. my dad is on a trip right riding from atl to florida all the way down the gulf coast to lousiana up to tennessee then back here. he rides a 98 road king. i want to be able to keep up with him next year when we ride from atl to the keys and back.

I concur, if you have it you should ride it! Last year I did 13,000 miles on my S. My dad is what I consider a rider, rides 20,000+ a year here in MO! He has an 06 Ultra Classic that just clicked over 70k last week. Also mind you he works mon-fri 7-3:30.

Just put on my cee baileys windshield and will try and put on 1200 miles or so in 3 days on a ride. But up till now 700 is my longest stretch.

Last season I did a trip from Calgary to Vancouver and back in 3 days putting on 2,800KM on my 04 XB12S with a stock seat. Gotta love taking side roads, but i was sore when i got back. Got 2 planed out there this season and a 2 week long trip planned to the east coast.
