Hey folks,
I've been trolling around these forums for quite a while already but unfortunately never had anything to contribute.

First, Id like to give some background information on myself; I live in the United Arab Emirates in the middle east, and I'm an engine-maniac but really new to the whole motorbike scene. Getting an XB12Ss soon and I'm too excited to wait. Sooo I have a few questions I want to ask.

Now, I've seen people complain about heat problems in their buell, and this is a huge concern for me. Temperature over here gets up to 45 C (130 F I think?) in the summer, I obviously wont be riding around in that heat, but Id like to be able to if need be.
Would riding in that heat cause damage to the engine? And would that famous "right thigh heat" be excruciatingly painful? (keep in mind that if the ambient temp. is that hot I'll probably not be wearing something thick)
Any possible suggestions? Like different synthetic engine oil or so?

Second of all, the buell obviously has a truckload of torque, but is that torque lashy or controllable? By lashy I mean sneezing myself into a wheelie :p.

Im 6'0", would I be able to have a pillion riding with myself safely/comfortably?

Thanks in advance for any help.

the best oil out there i think, and there are tests to prove it, is amsoil mcf synthetic20w 50, you can use it in the the engine oil resevoir and the tranny. along with a better oil cooler, some headerwrap, and there are also some bigbore kits out there that have better air cooling capabilitys than the stock stuff, by that i mean better heat dissapating materials. about it sneezing into a wheelie well its just like any other big cc bike if ya hammer on the throttle its bound to go up. its a machine it only does what you tell it to do.

There's a guy on sporttwin.com who lives in Dubai, he goes by the name "SandBueller" on there. He's said "he" gets hot, but has never had a problem with his bike over heating. If your still having doubts, you can get a larger oil cooler, in the states we run the risk of running too cool with that, but over there in the summer it should be no problem.

Also think of it like this; our Buells run hot...I cant remember the proper temp but I think its something around 300F ( im probably worng, but its not the point :p ) so as long as the air temperature is below that, and air is moving across the motor, overheating shouldnt be a problem. Even 140F is still cooler than the engine temp, therefore it will still cool the engine. 140F may be hot to a person, but its still cool to the engine [smirk]

So unless you plan on going for a ride on the planet Venus....you should be ok :D:D:D

Alright so theres nothing I should be worried about in terms of reliability!

Thanks for the feedback :D.
