As the title kinda leads you to believe I broke down.....well, not in the way you're thinking. My '03 9s has almost 67k and running the original belt, finally broke down and ordered the a new one from newcastlehd.com for $148.61...P/N: G0500.02A8R.
While in the garage, took stock of what I had collected to mostly restore her back to stock if/when the time comes and the only thing missing is the original handle bars. That's next on the list to purchase, along with another decal for the cheese grator to complete it.
Thinking of repainting the seat rails/subframe...either to Hammertone or black, that's still up for debate.

So, where is this going, well...next year I'll be getting a new bike and my choices are the Ducati Monster 1200 or the EBR SX. If it is the SX, the front end is getting replaced immediately with that of a Lightning! If it's the Duc, well nothing much to change there. Anyway, decisions, decisions...

I love both....with that said what do you want for your buell? id go duc if you want newest traction control etc, or ebr if you want new kid on the block...depends on how you ride

I'd be looking around $2500-$3000 range if and when the time comes. The bike has been my daily ride and occasional canyon carver over the past eight years. She began as a 9SL 'til I swapped the suspension and side stand for an S setup. Did the S to R conversion, short lived, and back to an S currently. Have only done cosmetic changes to the bike, no performance changes due to it being setup with the race ecm, exhaust, and K&N filter. She's never been dropped or in an accident. And she's a California model. You can see the changes to her in my pics.

In looking at the SX, the two things I do not like are the 1190SX decals on the side panels and the cut down RX headlight/fairing assembly. That being said sight unseen up close and personal, yet. Next month at the group meet up that may change...
As for the Duc, since seeing the first one, I have always liked the looks, sound and performance. And a former Bueller last year spurred my interest back into them after he sold his 12s and got a Monster...thanks kbfnail:D

got this yesterday...

Original, Gates belt '03 9s...66,600 miles of which 64,100 miles I put on it over the past 8 yrs that I've owned her and it still looks great. Going to keep it as a back up.

Yea, didn't notice it on Friday after I got home from work. Opened the garage, rolled her in and walked away 'til about 45 minutes ago when pic was taken. Knocking on wood as a type this...
