So I recently dropped my bike and I replaced most of the parts on it, when I drove it back after I had dropped it I noticed the turn signals weren't working, I thought it was because the right turn signal was broken. So I replaced the turn signal and it didn't fix the issue, then I thought it was the flasher so I replaced that with a EP-36 flasher didn't seem to fix the problem either. So now I'm stumped. That is the only thing that is not working on my bike right now and its pretty frustrating.

It might be the turn signal switch. You can take the relay back out and see if it gets power from the switch. If it doesn't, your problem may be in the switch.

When you say the switch what are you referring to, are you talking about the switch on the handle bars? or is there another switch that I probably don't know about?

Well, I still haven't had any luck figuring out what it could be, I took apart the front fairing and looked at the wiring to see if they were all connected and I also took off the seat and looked at the connection to the batter and it didn't look like anything was unplugged or unscrewed. I ordered a new flasher to replace the one I just put on to see if that is the problem, but for now I just took off the turn signals since they aren't required where I live.

Hmm didn't know that, I just saw it in one of the threads when I was doing research on the problem and that was the only replacement I could find unless I could find an oem flasher but, they were pretty expensive. I couldn't pick one up at a local auto store either.

Sirius I opened the casing on the switch but nothing one the inside looked broken and the connections were still soldered on.

verify with a meter or test lamp

Thanks mrlogix!

Ryashon01 - please veryify with either a multimeter or a lamp tester to make sure you are getting 12v at and past the switch, and of course also at the relay.

So I replaced the flasher again with a different one to see if that would fix the problem and it seems like it hasn't. Now i'll need to see if I can borrow a multimeter or buy one from someone to test the wires and switches.

I think you can find one at walmart for about 10bucks. It's what I have and has worked just fine when I've needed it.
BTW there's a connector on the left side of the rear subframe close to battery. I believe it's for all the rear signals. Check to make sure that thing isn't all jacked up or disconnected.
BTW did you say all your other lights work fine it's just the signals?
Might want to check the wiring coming off that relay.

Hmm, well I noticed this the other day but my rear running light (brake light) is not on while its running but it will come on when I press the brake.

Check that connector. I'm pretty sure your rear running/brake light is part of it.
BTW you pick up a multimeter yet? Will definetly save you some time and headache.

Even if you get your hands on a cheap test light. At least that way you can see if your getting power at the signals and check the ground at the signals. You could also use
It at the individual connectors, front and rear, for the lights.
Definitely a worth while tool to have. Well both multimeter and test light.

This is a very helpful thread...I had a turn signal issue that was just a bit different than the norm. The I had to remove and replace my license plate. After I reinstalled I went for a ride and all my signals stopped working. All fuses were good with no other issues I could find. I have LED's in the front and stock in the back (long story). Anyway the stock flasher relay worked fine up to that point but now no signals and no relay clicking when the indicator was selected.

I figured it must be the relay so I purchased the EP36 from advanced auto parts $12. Installed. Note: it was a real PITA getting the stock flasher relay out without removing the front fairing. Once the EP36 was plugged in, I Tested the right signals...THEY WORK. tested the left signal...Pop the 7.5 amp fuse blew. WTF I thought? This seems odd...Must be a short somewhere. I remembered the license plate swap I'd done a few days earlier and decided to check the rear wiring. Got the seat fairing off to check and Yep, one of the wires got jammed under the frame and with enough friction was shorting out the fuse every time I selected the left turn signal. Pulled the wire out, wrapped in electrical tape and reinstalled. Everything worked great after.
