This week I built up the carbon fiber mount plate and wired up the LEDs and connectors.

I hope to get the indicators wired up tomorrow and the whole thing back together.

Looks like its been a while since I've updated this thread. I finished the idiot lights about the end of August.
I also installed a gear indicator.
Here's a picture:

Along with the gear indicator, an electric shifter and a BuellTooth module were installed.

Then tonight I installed the totally useless front brake duct from an 1190RX

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Gear indicator? Is that the light on the left side? Your potato didn't take a clear picture:)

You'll REALLY like that quickshifter. Just makes them so darn easy to ride, especially in town! The RX brake duct looks better on your bike than the RX. Hee hee... Happy holidays, keep my future Buell clean and warm please:angel:

Thanks Cooter!
The gear indicator is the light on the left side. I'm not sure I'll keep it in that spot. But it works for now. The quickshifter is an interesting toy. I installed it then got to ride the bike twice with it. So I need some more time with it.

Until it warms up, the Buell will be warm. The garage is heated. I might bring it in the house again soon though. I see it more when its in the house.

Since I first saw the this picture I was inspired by an idea to have a transparent stripe over the top of my bike.

It inspired me to purchased some clear plastics back in September of 2015.

The first hurdle was to install the EBR headlight. I did that last year.

Since it seems this bike changes every year. So this year I'm going to work on what I started a few years ago. I've installed the transparent plastics to get an idea of how I'll blend it all together.

I'll get more of a side profile when I can. Perhaps over the coming weekend. I work during the week. This time of the year, it's dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home.

Damn! Dont Know how I haven't seen this thread before. Excellent! Really inspiring me to freshen up my firebolt....the electrics/wiring is the only thing that really scares me.

I've run into a bit of a mental roadblock on how I want to do the airbox. So I've got that churning in the back of my mind. I purchased an EBR cover to play with for a while. Here's a test fit after some cutting and building a new bottom for it. There's still some filling on the side needed.

Maybe I'll go for the Black Lightning flavor until I get the other figured out.

I can't say I'm surprised the EBR airbox fits so well. Erik has his ways!:) And it does look good:)

You could paint the inside of the clear plastics? That would leave a uniform glossy look and not have a paint ridge. You wouldn't even need to pin stripe it:)

I really like that idea. Never seen it before:up:

I kicked around the idea of painting the inside of the clear cover. However there's times I like having the cover completely clear. If I paint it, there's a lot of work getting it back clear. I've also considered having a small wrap done for each side.

At the moment I'm considering building some covers that have the same shape as the EBR cover from the side and front profile. I can custom fit them to the clear cover and allow for the transparent stripe.
