I searched.. I saw some very interesting arguments about car vs Motorcycle oil and some talk on Synth,

I was hoping some of you guys fellas can point me to a DIY article.

I have done the oil etc on every bike I have owned. I only got my Buell a couple days ago but plan to change the oil this weekend for the first time. any tips, pointers, or instructions?

thanks! this places ROCKS!

I got one of the manuals, I guess I'm good now fellas

now to go to the garage and see if my old nightster filter is one on the list of filters I can use!

there's a topic here on filters too...

try the search function on lh side of 2nd menu bar and search 'filter'

would list a couple, but don't have the time now;)

Thanks LeFox I found it

I was hoping the extra filter I had off my last HD (sportster 1200) would fit the Buell but it is different

one question..

2.5 qts PLUS the 4oz in filter?? or is it 2.5 with the 4oz included in it?

well, today my wife and I did the breather hose re-route and changed the oil

very easy!

the oil (and this was the first time doing it on this bike so it took a bit longer) was just a snap! maybe 15 mins? easy!

i would like to get a pic by pic on how to do it, cuz i dont wanna screw anything up
Download one of the service manuals available on here, they walk you through step-by-step with pics for changing the engine oil & primary oil.

Did mine for the first time and the transmission. Ended up using the Mobil 1 V Twin oil for both engine and transmission and the Mobil 1 filter as per previous thread on oil.
Engine oil change wasn't too bad seeing as though i had never changed the oil on anything in my life. The transmission was a different ball game.
Anyone out there with more savy know an easier way of getting the oil inside the transmission through the awkward hole. Ended up using a turkey baster tube as all the funnels i could find where too big.
Over all, apart from getting the bike to be level took me an hour ( first time ) to do the whole thing.

I think next change I'll go to Synth

one thing I really can't understand is why they decided to put that fan so that it blows the hot air on your leg! couldn't they have pointed it down or somehow deflect it so it does not have to blow on your leg?

Hoverjack, I picked up one of those funnels with the hose at the bottom from Autozone when I did my Primary oil change. It was a snap. It was like $5, and I've already used it twice
