First ride of the New Year 2012

Well it looks like the weather is going to go down the crapper. Finally some good cold weather coming into the Eastern US. Just had to crack out a 100 miles or so today. Hope everyone got there chance in, keep the rubber down.

Got a new jacket thanks to a fellow Bueller on here and it fits like a glove. Thanks Matt for the good deal.

[up] I went for a new years eve ride and it was a little cool. I miss that jacket, it hangs on the wall now in my garage as memory of the accident I was in.

I got out for a quick run today with my brand new tire.. Its not every year you get to ride without freezing on new years day in NY!!

The jacket is awesome for a textile. The fit and finish is excellent and it still has that new stiffness like out of the box. Couldn't even feel the chill in the air later in the day without the liner in. Little shocked to see the zipper covers lined with waterproofing material. Nice.[up]

@Bill, true statement. I seem to recall the last few years there was white stuff on the ground down here in Maryland around this time.

I had a ride this afternoon. Started out with a near high side after hitting something slick accelerating around the corner leaving my neighborhood. Got a few full rotations on the rear tire as it slid out. Had the handlebars almost at full lock counter steering, then it tried to buck me off. There were some people about to go across the crosswalk that got a show. Haha. That pretty much threw my confidence for the rest of the ride, then I was followed by the highway patrol for half the ride in the twisties..

Overall though, nice day for a ride, and returned in one piece.
