First Ride of the Year

Not a good first ride.... First I had to replace the battery $65. No big deal. Then I get about 2 miles from my house, go to grab second gear and *snap*, there goes my clutch cable $40. The kicker is that the stealership (Greatlakes HD in Bay City, MI) has to order it and it will take 10 days...so much for an early spring ride.[confused]

Bummer, that sucks! It was a nice day today (I'm closer to Flint) but I didn't bring the bike out...something about St. Patrick's Day and riding makes me paranoid. lol.

sounds similar to my day. Flat tire and snapped drive belt.

Dude, I had the same exact thing happen. My clutch cable snapped, 10 days to repair. The gears got stuck and skidded to a stop. Very scary. I was told this was uncommon for the clutch cable to snap. Maybe not....
The worst part is we are having great weather here in WI and i can't ride it this week, really bummed out after waiting all winter.

Here's a little ray of sunshine. Had a great first ride of the year! The sun was shining, the roads were clear of sand, rocks and other stuff( mostly). The bike ran great and I'm still grinning and heart's still skipping. The mods I did to the girl turned out well and I didn't get pulled over by the cops.[up]. It was a great start to a new season.
