So I want to get the FMF apex slip on for my 1125 but everyone online only has the titanium with carbon fiber tip. I was the carbon fiber muffler with the titanium tip. I called FMF and they said the never made that configuration for that bike. I know this is a load of crap because I've seen a ton of 1125's with this configuration. Can someone help me? If you have one yourself maybe give me the part number? Thanks to all.

Don't have the part# but it most definitely existed:

I just sold mine to a fellow board member.

I have it on order at sportbike track gear but they sent me an email saying it was on backorder until may sometime so im questioning whether im going to get it at all?

From my understanding, they discontinued the carbon can due to it splitting cause of heat issues. They then went to the titanium can with carbon tip.

Correct, the carbon cans were spliting. FMF changed to the Ti can. My carbon can never had an issue and I just traded it off to a friend of mine. I did contact FMF to see if they would let me trade my carbon can out for the newer ti can but they said unless it cracks its a no-go.

was wondering if they'd honor that.

The cracked carbon silencers I've seen were on race bikes that were a lot harder on the exhaust(heat, exhaust pulses, etc.).

In every case FMF made right. I had absolutely no qualms about mine in a street application, I just switched to a full system so I could coat the headers and not have downtime.

I had the CF model first, and it blew apart on a track day. Pics are on my FB of it and you def don't want it. The titanium model has held up quite nicely though.

I have had my Carbon can w/ titanum tip FMF apex for 20K problem free miles...( and I have had it at track days before too) I read the post a while back that they were cracking or breaking/ blowing apart, but mine has never had any issues, knock on wood.

I've done some more reading about the carbon cans. Its not an isolated problem, as other companies have had carbon can split issues. More times than not, its directly related to how often you repack the pipe... less packing=More heat!
