I just recently bought a 2007 Lightning CityX XB9SX. The bike came with the Jardine GP-1 aluminum bolt on exhaust. It sounds great, but I am curious as to whether or not the Jardine RT-1 sounds better. So I guess my question is: Has anyone had experience with both of these exhausts, and if so, which should I stick with?
--Thanks

Neither, get a hawk if you're on a tight budget, if not spend the $ and get a keda (both on the left) keda sounds performs and looks nice, and is handbuilt in the us.

Thanks for the quick reply. So then, what exactly sets the Jardine exhausts aside from the Hawk and the Veda exhausts? Are they bolt on? Are they un-baffled? I don't know much about these exhaust systems at all. On most part sites though, I can only find Jardines.

Jardine has to be repacked and build quality is low. Hawk doesn't have to be repacked, it's a gutted stock exhaust. Keda has rivets to be repacked but I'm sure dean (the builder) will chime in soon with how often if ever

Thanks everybody. I really appreciate all the help setting things straight. Can anyone tell me more about the Keda exhausts? For instance, are they bolt on? Are they lighter than the stock muffler? I have looked online for sound clips, but I was unsuccessful in finding any. So, do the Kedas sound good? Are they straights? I know I ask a lot of questions, but any info helps!!

Keep in mind, even with subwoofer setup, this does not truly capture what these sound like. I had someone stop by last night to check the fit with a belly pan for his race bike. His better half said he had to buy one within 5 seconds of starting the bike.

To answer some of your questions, its lighter than stock by a few pounds. They are straight through similar to the d&d, but it sounds completely different. The d&d is borderline obnoxious loud, mine are not.

I've got a Hawk and its awesome. It's given the bike the bark that it deserves. I've never heard a Keda in person, but they look great. $600 is just too steep for me now.

I have a Jardine rt-1 and I personally love it. There are many people on here who hate them. People don't like that if they don't re-pack them that they fall apart because of over heating and excessive vibration due to not having the packing to buffer it. They blame this on craftsmanship, and some of the issues are, however owner neglect also seems to play a role in it. ASB did an exhaust shoot out and the Jardine gave 2nd best power on a xb9 only to a full exhaust system. For me the power to cost ratio is unbeatable.

save yourself the trouble and hassel of redoing, I've done the buell race can, drummer, the jardine and even made my own and the hawk is buy far the better and cheaper, most of the other are straight thur design which in the end you lose all your back presure and most require a ecm flash or a race module, the hawk is a chambered exhaust and you don't lose any bp and no ecm changes required. best bang for your buck. I have an RT-1 and have not had any problems. I did repack it once, in six thousand miles. I used the FMF blanket repack kit and it worked great, The whole blanket fits in the can, just have to cut to lenght.I used quality rivets. There is no need to remove the exhaust tip end to repack, so leave those rivets alone. When replacing the rivets don't put one in and tighten it Put one in and tighten enough so it stays in loosely. Do the same to all. Then tighten one and skip to the next. I also found that the rear Jardine bracket can butt up against the bottom of the motor, near the bolt. I trimmed the end of the bracket above the mounting bolt so that there is no binding pressure pushing down on the can. Also, the right side spring that pulls the can to the collector pipe rubs against the collector pipe bracket. Put a small piece of trans cooler hose around the spring to lessen the metal on metal vibration. These hints may sound like bull but they have worked for me.
