I think the .44 has more ass than the .50 does. But I don't know for sure.

Yeah, you hope the owner of the gun was smart enough to only have one bullet in that thing.

At one point I was considering the 357 version. Still intimidating and powerful, but not complete overkill. I ended up getting a Steyr M9 9mm. 15 rounds and very little kick, easier to carry. More practical.

the only reason i had one at the time was just for the look and be able to say, Yeah i have that badass gun. but I hardly ever took it to the range, which is why it was the one to go when I needed the Cash.
sometimes I wish I still had it.. but i wouldn't buy another one (unless I came into loads of money-in which case, I'd start up a much bigger collection) [cool]

I have one in my collection, in .50 cal. No, it's not practical(for personal defens but some people hunt large game with them) but I have a few guns that are, so that one is just for fun, and to say i have it.
It does have more ass than the .44... The .50 AE has almost as much knock down power at 100 yards as the .44 Mag has at the muzzle.

I don't remember without looking it up but I think they have "about" the same muzzle velocity(around 1400 fps or so) but the bullet from the 50 is much heavier so it holds it's momentum much further.
