Former Race Buells hiding under tarps?

Going with the integrated resi style Brembos I can get a 12mm bore as well, plus the pushrod setup I want. I'll have to see if that pushrod will work in the PS11C... Not that I ever touch the rear brake other than for passing tech, a habit I need to fix some day. And yes I do have the racey clear resi tube setup on the shelf, legit HRC kit. :D

Never knew cast aluminum could bend... firebolt rearset pair I got off eBay has the left peg pointing down and forward, I'm impressed. Oh well, another set that appears to be straight on order and I'm continuing on with buttoning up the right side. The metallic flake blue levers and heel guards go great with the rest of the non-existant blue on the bike. :D Also got lower bars on, wishing now that they were wider, and that I had shorter throttle cables, shorter front brake line, etc, but this setup will get me through Sept, and if I prefer 'racey' mode on the bike I'll order custom later.

Happy to see you retained factory power outlet. The 83-88 Monte Carlo SS lighter assembly perfect fitment. You can use it to light up a Marlboro during your next victory lap....which is always a huge hit with the crowd.

After talking to all both of the guys in the Air-cooled American Twin class this weekend at Buttonwillow and the payouts are 2nd highest next to the GoldCup:eek:

The 'winner' of all 5 races on a very high dollar Harley (of some kind) was lapping 40 seconds slower than my Ninja 400. Took home almost $1000 dollars for basically just showing up.

I'm buying a junker XB-Ss/Uly ASAP to absolutely SMASH that class.

Welp, time to polish up my bull**** protest writing skills. :D AFAIK the top guy in the American Aircooled class at the moment is on an RSD built Indian Chief. Took home $1k, but what did it cost to actually show up and participate for the weekend?

Wait... wait... I never do the math 'cause that leads to regrets. Forget I asked.

NOOOOO! Don't do that! LOL.

The cost to get there is close enough to the same, but taking home $1000 > taking home $0.

The cost to buy/build an XB for the track is le$$ than I have in my Ninjette as well. Tires/fuel may be slightly more, but I'll just take that giant cardboard check to the bank for that.

It 'sort of' feels like poaching? But (IMO) the AAC class was meant for exactly what a Buell XB is. Not converting a cruiser.

and not at all the same as the 120HP R/7, RS660 guys loop-holing the LW field of 45hp 400's

I have both an Airtech and I think Sebimoto via Buellservice on order, now the race is on to see if Europe gets it to me before 'merica. Airtech said 4 to 6 weeks, which brackets COTA, Buellservice is estimating it in my hands next week. Plan C is a baking pan...

Seems like there is always a cheater bike for LW. I remember when the Hawk guys were bitching at SVs, SVs were bitching at the crazy built aircooled Ducatis, particularly in Florida. Kramer's 690 was a temporary scare, then destroked R6 under the 'R5' label, now it's the RS660. Interestingly the Duke 790 / R7s just didn't do much of anything up here in the Northeast? Meanwhile, I don't consider the Buell poaching in AAC, no way Roland Sands penned those rules and didn't know of Buell's existence while also helping come up with that 'Buell' 1190 cruiser thing...

I do enjoy the look of the XR1200, very clean. Wonder if HD will ever find that style again?

In other news, got my old ECU back, grey connector has separated from the body, may be pcb damage from the flexing... yay. Glad I got a new one now.

I think I'm good on the ECM front, new one from IDS, questionable one will get some epoxy on the connector and used as a testing ideas ECM down the line. I'll keep that in mind though. On pans, that one looks very similar to what Buellservice is listing, including the one week turn around time between order and shipping... wonder if it's a Sebimoto unit? In any case I can't swing having three on order at this point.

Second set of ebay XB12R peg plates arrived, both appear to be straightish and unmolested, so I have a working setup now. The bent plate is in my press at the moment having a spa day, appears I've got 90% of the bend out of it, no cracking, stressful noises, etc, just light massaging 12T at a time, will go into the spares box.

Considering your recent 'experience' with cornering, are the OE Firebolt peg mounts high enough? Not worth fiddling with the off shore adjustable ones? Can't say I hated these for $100:

The pegs they came with were big enough for my size 13's but I did go with an adjustable set anyway to get them higher. Just track days though. Any faster and I would have had to raise the whole bike, that lump is wide!

I've got a set of those, in glorious gold that I shared a pic of earlier, in their lowest / straight down position they're not much different from the Firebolt brackets with straight pegs, which in comparison are WAY higher than the Uly brackets with stock drop pegs. I'm going to bring the off shores as backups but dislike many aspects of their design. If I had more time I think I could 'fix' them, and will likely explore that this winter.

Nice! Theres some question whether they fit the stock muffler or you need the brackets on a Drummer-type muffler. Please share your fitment experience:eagerness:

I'm using a bracket kit, hope it works.

Meanwhile, go to mount up my 5mm finned rotor... ID is slightly too small, rubs the six pot ZTL caliper... bah.
