I had managed to nick a spot on the back of the swingarm while doing the hidden caliper mod. I didn't find an option other than the big can of Buell spray paint. (For reference this is the graphite grey on the frame and swingarm of a 2007 XBSs.) I happened by the local Advance Auto Parts to see what sort of touch-up they had. I thought there might be some variation of "Graphite Grey" that would be a decent match.
I found this:
Dupli-Color Import Auto Spray. This is a small can (5 oz). Dupli-Color's color code is 8800298. SKU 26916 80298, "Graphite Grey Metallic." I can't tell you how well it would work or match over large areas, but sprayed into a cap and applied to a nick on my swingarm, the match is pretty near perfect. I suspect it would work fine, say matching heel guards or passenger peg brackets.
The best part is that it was on clearance...for a nickel. :w00t::w00t::w00t:
