Has anyone ever heard of a bueller taking their bike in for service and HD/Buell giving them a new bike?

My 07' XB12s has been in the shop for over a month now. Everytime that I get told it is fixed, they tell me they find something else wrong. Now they replaced the wiring harness and it's still only firing on once cylinder.

Luckily I dropped the bike off a few days before the warranty expired so I'm good there... so far...

The bike was supposed to be done today but instead I find out they are brainstorming with tech services. I ask to talk to a salesperson... I get the figures on a trade for my bike and the price of a new one and a little birdy whispers in my ear that it might be a good idea to wait a little longer because if tech services can't figure it out then I might get a new bike.

Does this sound like B.S.? It doesn't to me because I have a little birdy telling me this whose job is to sell new bikes. Anyone wanna add their .02?

Huh? Im confused. If they cant figure out whats wrong ur saying they will "give" you a new one? Sounds like BS to me, but, iono

I went thru a similar situation with my buell.

Don't get your hopes up for a new bike. They'll ride it out until you go for the lemon law. Call a lawyer and see what your rights are.

Wouldn't it be crazy if the problem is real simple but overlooked.. like a coil wire.. they are kind of a pain :d

Mine was the valve actuator for the exhaust. Took almost three months for them to figure it out. Problem was they never rode it hard so they couldn't tell it only happened above 4000rpm.

I almost left it at the dealer and got something different.

That could be a possibility. Just keep pushing them for an update and tell them you use your bike for your primary transportation to work etc

its called a lemon law.

if you get repair for something and the vehicle is a certain age, and the issue isnt resolved in a certain amount of attempts, you are eligible for a new vehicle basd on the law restrictions.

might wanna look into it.

^^^Third on what ADAMLEE and gbalias said. Find out what kind of "lemon law" you have in your state. If you have no options there, start going up the ladder of Buell. Service manager, store manager, area manager, etc. I keep hearing about this stuff from so many people on this forum. My dealership is top notch. It doesn't make any sense. Good luck man.

Well I went to the shop to raise a stink and test ride an xb12ss and an 1125cr. It looks like i'll have to call HD Corporate on monday and raise a stink with them to see if I can get this deal moving.

Unfortunately my state has no lemon law for bikes...[down]

Even if I do get a "free" bike out of this or just a completely rebuilt bike I may end up trading for the 12ss or the 1125cr. The SS fits my frame better and there is more room for a passenger. However, the 1125cr is ridiculous... in a good way. That is the fastest bike i've ridden. The only downside to it is the handlebars which can be changed of course, and it had some stuttering in 2nd at about 45. I remember reading that they had fuel map issues but I thought that was sorted out? The handling is good on the 1125
it's just a little more twitchy than what I'm used to.

Why the name "coastiespeed" ?
just curious

I am in the Coast Guard.

I called the state atty gen. office and they said that motorcycles are not covered... :(

I also spoke to HD Corporate and they said they are still working with the dealer to repair the vehicle (duh). I mentioned my concern about driving away and having issues a week later and then it not being covered. HD said they wouldn't leave me "stranded" if something popped up a few months down the road it would still be covered. Now if it were a year or more then prolly not. Overall I am happy with HD Customer service as well as the Dealer. I am mainly just frustrated that it is taking so long and it is riding season. I just want to stress that the dealer and HD Corp have been good to deal with so far.

The dealer is Pigtrail HD.
