Front Brake Tail light switch

Has any one had this problem. When i pull in the front brake the light gets dimmer(it actually is reversed). I pulled the switch off and tested it and when its not pressed there is continuity and when i press it in it cuts out. Is it a bad switch or is it possible i mixed up wires when i plugged the light back in after my cheese grater mod? Also where can i get one of those switches?

yes it's a bad switch... but only because the cutting in and out part.

It is supposed to be "Open" (aka OFF) when pushed in and "Closed" (ON) when released. The lever actually pushes the plunger in when you let go of the lever.
