I have the B,S motosport front paddock stand that lifts at the bottom fork yoke (triple tree) my question is with the bike lifted i cant move the bars at all so is this normal? seems like i may have the wrong pin and it worries me i may be overloading steering bearings if its going in too far? Thanks chaps! :)

wouldn't think you would be overloading the bearings with the front paddock stand. I could see where manufacturing tolerances could make the pin pretty snug fit where the forks wouldn't turn very easily though.

yeah get what you mean didnt think of that but pin seems loose on the way in and the bars are stuck solid, just wondered if the pin should have a shoulder maybe? do you know if that happens with other stands like the ones you get in the states... (the pitbull is it?) at the end of the day it does what i need it to, just curious really!

I just bought a set of stands off ebay. They are not pitbulls, but good enough for now. My front stand the pin is snug putting it in but it doesn't lock up the front. It is very stiff to turn though.

I had to widen my stand in the rear to match the width of the spools. I'll check the pin in a couple of days to see where the profile is bearing the weight, then turn a new one out of stainless.
Kind of sounds like what you need to do Tone. Qturn- what bike do you have? Can you take a pic sometime of the triple pin for me? Tone- you take one of the pin in yours. I can make you a new one on a lathe at work. Know you can't get out much. No problems, got your back bro.

2003 xb9sl. Don't mind the Captain America colors in the pic - I'm in the middle of changing from red to blue.

Pitbull accidentally charged me twice and sent me two pins for my bike. I was going to send it back to them for credit on my next tire tree, but if you'd like it, shoot me a PM - it's still in the package and I'll send it to you cheap.

qurtrn10 an angle -my pins have a different profile (diameter that fits in the stand pin receiver. the part of the pin that inserts into the triple tree is 17-18 mm diameter? Yours has an angled insert diameter, mine are straight. That is why I need Tone to send me a picture of the one that came with his stand. He might be able to use it depending on the manufacturers design of his stand.

I want to say my venom stands say it's a 18mm pin and it does have a slight shoulder. It does go in easily, and snugs the bars, but can still turn.

Once again chaps your offers of help and advice never cease to amaze me!! qurtrn10 thank you for the pin offer but mine is a straight pin and the stand is angled so i think the angled pin and stand would work against each other but i need that pin in the straight version my shoulder is too small and too low down which means the pin goes in too far and the stand is hitting the triple tree! **** knows how i didnt spot that before!! what do you all think? Really i need a quote to ship a pair of pitbulls to the UK they look awesome!! 081115100030.jpg 081115094943.jpg 081115100103.jpg 081115095611.jpg You can see where its rubbed the triple tree in one photo! 081115101911.jpg pin is 18/19

Sorry chaps forgot to say i tried that but still no luck! i need to know which model pitbulls to buy i think i will just sort it out that way to save ****ing around! are the pitbulls universal or model specific? i couldnt make much sense of their website! but then i am british!! lol

When I just bought stands, I tried to buy pitbulls for my 1125. One of the best stands out there, but they cancelled my order after two days and said that they didn't have stock of those models and that it would be 6-8 weeks. Come back then.

I tried to contact them by email and phone to find out if it was just one stand or both that was out of stock. I would have purchased the one and waited on the other. No reply to emails (sent two over a weeks time) and when I called they transfered me to someone who took my name and number and they would call me back. Ended up buying a set of front and rear off ebay from another source. It's been a couple of weeks now and still have not heard from them.

I don't know if the stands are the same for the 1125's and the XB's. If you change your mind I'll make you a new pin for your existing stand. Just let me know.

That's unusual. I've made three or four purchases with them, and each time they have been fast, reliable, and wanting to be helpful.

This is the stand I bought for the rear. The mounts are adjustable, and on the XB they are in the widest position:

It has interchangeable pins. Depending on the model, most Buells take either a #2 or #3 pin.

^^ agree! on mine the metal still hits hard anyway! but mate that last photo just solved the problem!! look where your pin stops the triple sits on the shoulder and mine goes all the way in!! well done mate i need that pin what size is it? mine is 19mm below shoulder and 18mm above it. i wonder if the triples are the same? mine is an 09 what year is yours? The locator pin/bolt is 7mm.

Just a thought.... Why not find a nice thick wide washer with an inner diameter similar to your pin outer diameter and use that as the spot your triple tree/base sits on?
What would it cost ya? Couple bucks? A little time at the local hardware store?
As long as the washer is big enough for the stem to rest on you should be good to go.
Just a thought
