i put new tires on my firebolt last week, and while removing the belt pully ,I touched the rear brake pedal a little bit.and now it drags a little . and also my front brakes drags now ( my son grabbed the brake lever while the wheel & tire was off the bike)
I bleed the front brakes and pushed in the pads into the caliper, but still after bleeding them they still drag a little,( didn't try anything yet for rear brakes drag.)...the service manaul has a note on wheel removal , it says; Do not operate brake lever (or pedal)with wheel removed or caliper pistons may be forced out. Reseating pistons requires caliper disassembly....( disassembly & re assemby calls for replacing all the o-rings in the calipers pistons and seals).. so whats that going to cost me from harley dealer..Do i really have to do all that to fix the brake drag , or is there an easier or better way to fix my brakes dragging.

are you shure u torqd the wheel axles all the way , and the pinch bolts. if needed be changing the o rings is pretty simple, it just takes time. but i never heard of that happening b4 . did you mount the tires yourself, if so you could have bent the rotors.

I have the same problem except I had my tires changed at a dealer over a month ago and mine are still dragging. I am in the process of putting a new caliper and caliper slider bolts on. I think they may have cross threaded the bolts that hold the caliper on and it isn't allowing the caliper to release all the way. I also got a rear caliper rebuild kit, but it didn't do much. I have bled the brake lines and filled the reservoir and lines with new fluid. Still the same thing. I have come down to a last resort of just buying a new caliper. Let me know if you found anything different that worked. Thanks. [confused]

It shouldn't matter if you hit the brakes with the caliper off as long as you can still push the piston back in, it has not come out.
Have you had the wheels off the ground and tried to spin them?
You guys know that disc brakes drag A LITTLE all the time?
