Fuel problem?

I have a 2005 xb12r on start up the fuel pump sputters and can only drive it a second or two then I lose all power but it doesn't go dead, if I shut it off and wait a few seconds it will crank and run like normal for a few seconds then lose all power again. Any suggestions?

Replace the pump, check the fuel
Pump connector.
