The H-D dealer we bought our Uly from told me to never use fuel that had ethanol in it. Eg. Canada (Husky and Mohawk). It was said there might be code issues. We are traveling to the U.S.A. from Alberta, Canada as far as Las Vegas and wonder if there is any fuel stations to avoid or recommeded?

The manual states to never use Methanol as it can damage the fuel system. It goes on the say that Ethanol and Ether blended fuels can be used as well as Reformulated or Oxygenated fuels.
I've consistently used Husky and Mohawk fuels for years in my vehicles and never had any issues. The ethanol is also a great fuel de-icer

I don't know what % Ethanol you get in that part of the world but we have 10% Ethanol here in Australia that I have used on my '06 approximately every second tankful or so for now just over 60,000 miles.

It runs very, very well I have never had any issues with any sort of poor running - BTW my '06 is completely standard and I have not fiddled with exhaust or breathers, air filter etc.

This is straight from the '06 Uly Users Manual:

Do not use gasoline that contains methanol. Doing so can result in fuel system component failure, engine damage and/or equipment malfunction. (00148a)

Gasoline containing METHYL TERTIARY BUTYL ETHER (MTBE): Gasoline/MTBE blends are a mixture of gasoline and as much as 15% MTBE. Gasoline/MTBE blends can be used in your motorcycle.
ETHANOL is a mixture of 10% ethanol (Grain alcohol) and 90% unleaded gasoline. Gasoline/ethanol blends can be used in your motorcycle if the ethanol content does not exceed 10%.
REFORMULATED OR OXYGENATED GASOLINES (RFG): "Reformulated gasoline" is a term used to describe gasoline blends that are specifically designed to burn cleaner than other types of gasoline, leaving fewer "tailpipe" emissions. They are also formulated to evaporate less when you are filling your tank. Reformulated gasolines use additives to "oxygenate" the gas. Your motorcycle will run normally using this type of gas and Buell recommends you use it when possible, as an aid to cleaner air in our environment.
Do not use race gas or octane boosters. Use of these fuels will damage the fuel system.
You may find that some gasoline blends adversely affect the starting, drivability or fuel efficiency of your bike. If you experience one or more of these problems, we recommend you try a different brand of gasoline or higher octane rating.

Maybe they were confusing Ethanol with Methanol?

Sounds cool to me ridendude I was just trying to follow what they (H-D) told me. I use Husky and Mohawk in the 4 wheeled vehicles I own and if I can use them in the bike so much the better. I can gain points on my AMA card too. I was getting all paranoid about the whole thing, owned the bike for three years now and never used anything but Shell, Petro-Canada, Esso, Fas Gas and such.
