Future Buells

Hey everyone. Jus wondering when yall think buell will come out with new buells. I dont mean like the 1125r and cr, but like new body work etc. kinda had this same look for a while now. im thinking 2011 will have some new looks. Jus my guess.

So i guess im jus wondering what everyone hopes to see and expects from buell in the future.

Looks, Motors, Drivetrain ( 6 speed thunderstorm maybe for highway ) , body work, colors, options, etc.

id like to hear yalls opinions and if anyone likes to sit around and doodle like myself....maybe yall have a few sketches of your own buell concepts


ill have to draw up a few and post some myself

ive always wondered if any top dogs at BUELL visit our forum and see what we (the market, buyers, customers) have to say and what we think. If so, maybe youll see your sketch on the cover of cycle world or motorcylist in a few months lol.

I have an internship programming test hardware interfacing software at the Harley Product Development lab here in Wauwatosa, WI starting in another four weeks. If I find anything interesting that isn't covered by a confidentiality agreement I'll hint at it for you guys ASAP.

how thoughtful well i drew up a really cool flat tracker, but im kinda stuck on the tank (air box) design. its hard to show my idea on paper really. i need to make some kind of 3d model i guess. i used the curren xb "fuel-in-frame" frame....but i might change it and throw a new frame design in it. i highly doubt that buell will go back to tube frames, or use anything besides a fuel in frame design. they seem to be very proud of it. i would be too, afterall , it is brilliant.

ill try to post my sketch in the morning and see what yall think.

Its a good idea that they gave up on the motocrosser. I've been racing motocross since I was 12 and involved in the sport for longer. It would be next to impossible for anyone to compete with the Japanese machines. They have so much r&d time in motocross. Maybe Buell should come up with a woods bike or an enduro bike.

Seeing as Buell owns the patent on fuel in frame, ZTL brakes and the underslung exhaust, I'm pretty sure that's what will be next. With that being said, I don't think that any other manufacturer CAN use that design.

I'm still a big fan of the thunderstorm motor. A simple reliable design that puts out more torque without overloading on horsepower at a useable range, all the while giving great fuel economy.

Maybe other companies will use inovational designs like "fuel in the forks" or "fuel in the handlebars" Or seat doubling as the exhaust.....

i was looking at gear ratios for xb and 1125 the gears are close. the xb is on the money just add a gear. the 1125 has almost the same gear ratios, you could lose 3rd or 4th and it would be the same as xb, last gear is the same.

i know thats why i love my bike! i dont need another gear, it is in my opinon overkill. i may get close to top speed then traffic stops me that ok ill get there another time.
