Ok I was in Rochester earlier today and showed him this thread. He said he will make some and put them on ebay once he finishes the jobs he is working on now. I'll keep ya posted. Thanks for expressing your throught! Keep em commin!

So I just decided to try the velcro idea I had and ya know what it works perfectly I mean I used some of the the "industrial"/"rough surface" velcro and it does not budge at all so for the time being (aka trip to beach tomorrow) it is going to work perfectly. So until the time when I can get that little piece velcro works good!

Does it accept the Garmin standard ball and socket mount? If not, the only other thing I can think would make it work is if it fits into any of the Garmin brackets...

man I know this thread is older than dirt but if anyone as information on obtaining one of these mounts , as shown by drifting swiftly, let me know. thanks.

Hey guys. I may have a bit of new info, but waiting on more. nemisis, i know you sent me a personal message that I haven't replied to yet. I contacted him and was waiting for his next reply before getting back to you. Basically im waiting to hear if he has time (and is willing) to make more. I gave a few people his email through personal messages and I guess he made and sold a few, but was never paid for one. Hes a super nice and laid back guy, so hes not mad or upset, but he obviously would have rather been paid. As its a relatively complex little part, and he wasn't asking much, he just isn't sure if its worth the time and effort. I'll keep you guys posted. What does everyone think is a fair price? just curious. By the way, I use mine all the time and LOVE it. Its always on my bike and no has ever noticed it without me pointing it out. I hope it works out that more prople can have them too!

ram mounts makes and sells them for $15.92 on their website so around there would be a good price IMO.

great idea,i put mine in the clear platic in my tank bag on trips. ,i would be a little scared of loosing it, i lost a good radar off my ninja on the highway.
hows the glare? can you see it clear in the daylight?
it looks like a must do to me.

The glare isn't bad. I mean, it happens, but you can rotate the screen, so its no big deal to just tilt it in a different direction. I've never had it where I couldn't read the screen.

As far as losing it, I just tether mine, so even is something were to happen, it wouldn't fall to the ground. I just use one of those neck straps lanyard things with a clip, so just clip it in. Its easy, and no worries.

Also, I wired in a uly power outlet, so I can plug it in on longer trips and not have to worry about battery life or anything. Really convenient, and has saved me a few times by finding gas stations for me.

I ended up picking up the similar ram mount option for around 27.00 shipped, just got here yesterday and come to find out my ball size is smaller. ( shut up) I dont know what the fuck to do now. I've got a garmin nuvi 1100 for free from a Christmas party and it seems to be the only nuvi ram mounts doesnt have shit for. prolly going to end up cutting slits in my suction mount to act as trenches for a couple of zip ties. also thought of screwing the suction mount into the flip lid of the gas cap..... I dunno, but thats my 2 cents.

i was thinking on how to make one. easy enough, ill just turn that ball up on the lathe i work in at work, drill a hole through it and bolt it to my mirror mount that i don't use!!! perfect, glad i found this thread.

yup, it sucks seeing something you want for your bike on the internet but cant find a way to purchase.... I too would go up to $20 up front to this dude to make me one. I guess i'll just go ghetto for the time being. <angry face>

If you guys can find a 17mm bead... (some webs store like this),A flat top screw, 2 washers, a spacer (or 2 nuts)... You can make your own.
Countersink the top of the acrylic bead till the screw sits flush, then seat the bead w/ screw on top of the spacer/nut,and down through the stem. Use a nylon locking nut and washer on the underside. Wish I thought of this before I paid for the ram mount. I still might, even the ram short mount seems like too much unnecessary bulk, imo....
