so i know I've been riding A LOT lately but not enough to go through a tank of gas in a day or two.... what could be the problem besides the fact i need to stay off the throttle... haha

What sort of mileage do you think you have done? the tanks are not that big after all (cant remember capacity sorry). i would start by cleaning or replacing the air filter a dirty one can increase fuel consumption and maybe check the plugs are good too and that may help a bit!
My crystal ball is broken so I can't see what your bike is... But Typically Buells go aproximatley 120 miles to the tank. That's 2 hours of normal riding on a highway. I've filled up 3 times in a day before.
I've also gone through an entire tank of fuel in 2, 20 minute track sessions.
