George-
Do you have any photos of the brackets that lasted 6k mi. after they cracked?
If they lasted that long they may only need minor improvements to eliminate the cracking issue.

I'm only throwing this out there because it sounds like you lose a lot of potential customers that want to retain their chin fairing and I for one would be all over your pipe if I could keep the fairing.
That said, I think if you are willing to share some photos we (forum members) may be able to help with the bracket design.

I dont believe this is an impossible task, seriously, we put people in space right? :p

ive designed, redesigned, gusseted, braced....

all started in CAD. and refined from there with vigorous testing. i think the design is ok. its a matter of material strength. its never cracked at the welds.

i think the best bet is to go with a 3/16 thick material. anything thinner will crack. you need to call jardine to get obscure parts like that. but even those crack after time. nobody will guarantee them.

as i said. .... i would love to offer a bracket, but i cannot be held responsible if it were to break, fall off and god forbid caused an accident or death. i couldnt deal with that. so in the interest of everyone, overriding aesthetics.....you guys are on your own for that part. sorry folks.....but i cant afford some sort of law suit. thats the LAST thing any of us needs. haha.

you know it looks sexy naked! i think the aesthetics flow great with it like it is. im not in this to make a fortune. i do it in my spare time for fun and for those who are looking for something totally different from the norm. thats why we bought these bikes to begin with isnt it? haha

oh yea...

drummer makes brackets for $75.

its on the page where their SS drummer is. just found it again.

so theres another option. IIRC the jardine brackets are $140 the last time i spoke to anyone over there. and youre probably better off calling drummer......jardines phone communication is more than lacking.

I know that you, octo, are the man when it comes to tuning and that this is an older post, but when you initially installed this on your bike, did you immediately start data logging and remap the ECM or did you just let the ECM adjust the best it could then come back and do all the specific tuning later?

onelogue-I will definitely write one. I'm going to have to wait awhile since GB told me he will be out of country off and on for the next few months. But, I'm in no hurry, so until then...

I rode without an ECM modification of any kind for about a week, then dove right into tuning. The pipe is fine, as-is, with the 09+ bikes, but really comes alive with a custom map. Spending the time to tune it (especially when adding in an aftermarket air filter) makes for a screaming bike.

Octo/ gbalias- I have an 08XBScg so what will I have to do if I do get this exhaust? Not to familiar with ECM mods or mapping and can I do that with a MAC computer? I have a K&n filter...

I'm "on the build list" for a GB! Woo hoo! I'll post when it comes in, and will try it sans the chin fairing to see how I like the aesthetics. If I can't live without it, I'll look into the Drummer or Jardine mounts.

After my seat from baldwin I may have to look into this. I am trying to sell my 2005 Yamaha Warrior if anybody is interested. It will help free up some cash for the mustang and buell.

Nope, he tried to do brackets for it, but he wasn't satisfied with the durability of them, his looks too good to cover up anyway

interesting! I just finally got my chin fairing bracket reworked to fit my bike and got the plastics on it!

is it too wide? does a jardine bracket not work with it?

You can--he just doesn't supply his exhaust with mounts. Mounts can be sourced from Jardine, Drummer , etc.

Works just fine. You CAN run a chin fairing-- you'll simply have to supply your own brackets.
