When I get my new bike and can ride again, which one should I get? XB12R or 1125R. I had and XB9R and I loved it just wondering if I should go ahead and jump for the 1125R? Any opinions for each? I personally don't like the cooling for the 1125R, but I still like the look and power, but I also love to more naked look of the XB...

There are to many factors that play in. What are you using the bike for? How tall are you? What is your style of riding? How much money do you have?

Edit: will you share some money? That leads me to my next question. Do you have a g/f or wife?

It will be about 50/50 here (still have a feeling it will lean more xb hence buellxb.com)

I have an 1125R and say go that route. I have both sitting in my garage and the 1125R hands down is the better bike IMHO. The firebolt is still awesome and can seriously corner...which isnt saying much cause I cant say that I have never ridden a modern sportbike that didnt corner.

If it were me I would think of it like this. I dont want an underpowered bike with an air-cooled engine that is an HD engine with a small buell logo.

For a 1203cc v-twin, it looks good BUT the claimed output on it isnt exactly impressive but with that being said......

I STILL THINK THE FIREBOLT IS EXTREMELY BADASS I am just partial to the 1125R so no hate comments on me please.

Also, clearly the firebolt wasnt designed for speed so for just going to work during the week and hitting some twisties on the weekends is your style, go firebolt.

If you are like me: I love riding to work, being loud, hitting the twisties with the knee down AND hitting 155 (with more to go) on the straights then go 1125R. But I love the uniqueness of Buell and the balls out speed and how effortless it is to get there :)

If you buy a Buell, you still win in OUR eyes.

I would really love to get the 1125R, mostly it's gonna be a to work and back and trips and fun bike. My riding style is gonna change since I was just t-boned riding on the twisties... I think I may change how and where I ride.

btw, I'm short, 5'7" but the XB and the 1125R are the same height. i have also sat on both deciding on an Xb over the Scg

arent the 1125's cheaper than the xb's now? Dang nice problem to have. If I could get a 1125 for close to the cost of an xb. I think I'de ride the uglier faster bike.

yea, thats kinda what I'm thinking, and I also don't have a girlfriend to worry about anymore so there's more money for me!

I know they are listed as the same, but I've ridden a few 1125s and they feel MUCH taller. I'm 5'6" and feel uncomfortable on 1125's.

Plus you have to think long term. I don't think the 1125 series has proven itself yet. They have tons of electrical problems and other small issues. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but with how HD is averaging a 2 month wait on parts, I would stick with a proven and reliable XB.

2 month waits? my Harley Dealer always has the parts overnighted for me. Never had to wait more than 1 week and that was for a part for my Blast.

At my age I can't afford full coverage, even on the XB I have to do minimum. on my XB its $200 a year, full $3,000 haha. More than my damn car! I mean how much damage can I do with a bike over a car?

No, I moved from cullman to huntsville. Never had a wreck or anything till I got here. I've been here of 2 years and have been in 6 wrecks. 2 my fault, one of those was never reported and I only flipped off my bike in front of my house. There were only 1 wreck that was considered my fault but it really wasn't. And I have 2 speeding tickets, 1 I took the driving class for. My insurance just went down, because I turned 21 this year.

The thing is, I really haven't had a prob with the college kids. Mostly old people and one woman in her 30s.

that reminds me a few weeks back a co worker came in to work and said he had a wreck lady pulled out in front of him and he t-boned her... said after the cop had gotten there and started taking statements the daughter(around 5 y.o.) of the lady who was driving got out of the back seat slapped her forehead and screamed "mom you did it again!"

the extreme difference in pricing on the insurance isn't due to the damage u can do to others with your motorcycle, it's due to how easily it is to damage your motorcycle. think of how much easier it is to scratch/dent/wreck a bike than it is a car. if the insurance was to pay for your bike if it got a dent, or deep scratches, etc., it is highly likely they would be replacing a lot of stuff. this isn't a personal statement directed towards anyone, by any means. just an "in general" case. i know if i had full coverage, i'd use it whenever something made my bike less than perfect.

xbr and 1125r tails are pretty much identical
height for some reason my gf swears my firebolt tail xbsx is lower side by side i cam see it is a little taller.
having a xb9 and 1125 the power of the 1125 is unreal.
Honestly i would likely be quicker in the curves because in the apex i just whack the xb9 wide open.
xb12 0r 1125r i would buy a 1125r and there are more to be had

as far as the whole insurance thing I thought it was crazy how my m2 (which is a slower and more heavy bike that is worth less) is a hole lot more for full coverage than my xb9r. The only reason I could think of is that the m2 is a 1200 and the 9 is a 900 but does that realy justify $500 in difference in insurace between the two?
