Ok I have a chain kit the freespirits one with adjuster. Just put a new smaller sprocket and a chain, but I cant get the damn thing tight, even with adjuster all the way out. How tight is too tight and what meathods are you chain users using to get it tight so that the adjuster is actually funtional

if the rear wheel/swing arm assembly is similar design, even a chain will need a tensioner since the rear axle is not adjustable. Probably would be the same tensioner as a belt drive would use, except for a sprocket instead of pulley. Chain drive would also require wear block guides. Might make a difference, but I would go with the tensioner. IMHO.

if you can't get it to tight enough with the chain they sent, and you remove a link, and it's too tight, something is going on with the tensioner. It should have enough coverage to compensate for two links I would think. Is it attached correctly? Has anyone here got a picture of the tensioner installed?

sorry, I was willing to help, just not that familiar with all the different Buell's. I do have a strong mechanical background though. I thought about going to a chain but , decided to stick with the belt. Might play with ratios later.
