I have some more that I want to edit before I post them :D

My wife uses lightroom more than photoshop. I don't know what all for that is her thing. I just know I almost never see her open photoshop.

yea Ill have it on sat for sure :D

I'm sure lightroom can do the same thing I did in photoshop, in fact there are easily a dozen programs that can all do what I did to these photos.

the key is finding one that you like and that is easy to understand.
the most powerful software on the planet is useless if you don't know how to use it, or if its so complex you choose no to use it. software that makes a 5 minute job take an hour sucks, but if you can make an hour job take 5 min it rocks. :D[up]

For simple editing, photoshop isn't worth the money. Lots of stuff you can do with it but like you said "the most powerful software on the planet is useless if you don't know how to use it."

If you need any tips let me know...don't know everything about the program but more then enough to impress people, lol.

That last picture SUCKS[sad]

So wish I could be out riding today............ Hmmmm BuellChick is working her bike is in the garage and I am not it that much pain.....[smirk]

ive been into photography for some time now. some of the stuff is on www.RedDwarfDesigns.com (the site i built is fairly new and im not sure im gonna continue to pursue it) but anyways....im a canon guy. got a 5Dmk3, a couple 50d's and a XSi. a bunch of glass (L) and all the flashes, etc. good to have the tools.

holy crap! that's a lot of photo stuff!!

very nice photos as well :D[up]

I could post my one camera two lenses macro adapters (cant afford a macro lens and flash set up yet) one flash two batteries and tripod but I am already feeling out classed so Ill try and spare my dignity as much as possible [sad]

hahaha....no sweat. thats only the half of it. the rest of the lenses were in the other room.

i always push people if they are on a budget to really spend the majority of it on the glass. most of the canon EF lens line up is pretty good (the EF-S wont work on full frame cams like the 5D) but once you get into the L glass, its a whole new ballgame in terms of clarity and contrast. unfortunately most of the glass is more than the cams.

i think the priciest glass i have is the canon 24mm TS (tilt shift)Info, a 70-200mm f/2.8L IS ,info, 16-35mmL info, and the 28-70mm (replaced by the 24-70 info

plus a pair of the 580EXII flashes, transmitters, both macro flashes, etc.
the macro i shot that was posted of the purple orbs is actually a raspberry.

heres the setup: haha

and the image:
784182579_evRtt-M.jpg

and that is reduced. the 5D is 22MP full frame. so you really get the true FOV of wide angle lenses and macros.

BUT, i do however have an inside line at CanonUSA. so...........

I am saving my pennies and dimes for a 60mm macro and the R1 lighting system

Nikon%20R1C1.jpg

but I will use a SB900 flash as a commander instead of the SU800

a ring light would be nice as well but I am not sure of how to integrate it into my system at this point.

my next lenses will all be FX compatible even though I am still confined to a DX camera.
50mm 1.4 70-300mm variable aperture and 60mm macro (maybe the 105mm if I ever get payed for photography)
I want a D700 but wont be able to afford one for a few years.
I figure with only 6 months or so of DSLR under my belt and 3 weeks of photo shop I am doing fairly well.

I wish I knew more about canon glass but I still don't even know what all the different letters mean on the nikon glass until I read the specs

but I try to concentrate on good glass instead of cheep stuff, lenses are good for decades and bodies are outdated in only a few years. cheep glass is always cheep glass and not only does it hold little value but it also wears out faster.
I am thinking about a trying a tamron lens in the future. I have tried sigma and was not impressed, it just felt cheep.

I wish I had an in with a camera company ;)
or with a real studio at this point LOL

anyway here is a little more from this week :D

gbalias, the 5d mk3? Are you some super secret tester for canon?;)
Nice work, especially the macros!

delta, love the watch pic.

....ive got both the macro flashes and its a toss up depending on whats being shot on which one i use. the raspberry was taken using the 65mm macro, and while the detail is phenomenal, i believe the lens was less than an inch from the subject. so its not too practical for anything other than product or food stuff IMO.

i took this one with the 100mm macro and from about 6 feet away:

and this with the fisheye...haha:

the canon glass is denoted by the mounts and compatibility. all EF-S lenses are designed for the C sensors, and if used on a full frame, the mirror will come in contact with the 1st element. the EF lenses are for full frame and c sensors, standard quality. all of the L glass (the canon pro grade, denoted by the characteristic red ring around the end of the lens) are all EF mounts. they are generally much heavier and the zoomers are the white case color.

miami, crap, i meant mk2, not 3. sorry. however, i cannot state my connection with CUSA. ;)

and a few more for good measure

this was with a 50D

had to add this one...

after stitching, this ended up being like 60MP, enough to print about 12ft wide:

Man I wish I could get nice moon shots like that. I don't have the lens or the low light capability to do that. Anything over ISO 800 starts to show noise. Not much at first and even 1600 isn't bad but it bothers me at 1000 because I know it's there even if others don't notice, much less at 3200.

I was thinking the same thing on the macro but the 105mm is $400 more than the 60mm

I also need to get a panoramic done for Tuesday :)
I am having trouble getting it right, I can't get my ball head right to do a panoramic without catching. It's not smooth enough unless I turn the tension way down and then it doesn't support the camera. Maybe I'll just crop and stitch instead.

that moon shot was at ISO200, and i think at 1/160. I ran the 200mm L with the 2x optical extender, and with that much light reflecting off of it, thats what i got.

its also cropped. the moon itself was only about 1/10th of the frame size.

low light is where the 5d shines in my book. ESPECIALLY in HD video.

although these are web res, these are ISO2000 for a fashion show i covered benefiting pediatric cancer research.
