The license plate bracket is actually a "laydown" plate bracket unit for a Harley cruiser. I like it because it allows me to angle the plate a little bit better and run lighting to it more easily. I just mocked it up in place, marked holes, drilled, and mounted with large fender washers behind the undertail.
I've been pulled over a few times for various things, but never been hassled by the Texas badge for my license plate mounting.
I saw a post somewhere on a board that showed some guy doing a pretty cool plate remount on his XBR by simply rotating the stock bracket 180 degrees (front to back) and grinding the ears off the bracket. He was able to make a pretty decent angled plate mount under the tail that way. Of course he still had to rig some plate lighting.
