Going on the first "long" ride this Saturday

Even though my Scg is for sale, I'm taking it on its first "long" ride since I've had it. It'll be a little over 200 miles on Saturday afternoon. We're supposed to have really nice weather here in the Chicago area. Riding with 2 local friends from Elgin to Western Springs to meet up with a larger group, to continue on to Starved Rock and then heading home. Should be just over 200 miles. Not a lot, really....but that seat! Hahaha. You're in it....in one position, without much padding. Should be a great ride on a great bike.

You'll be fine! Bought my first buell from starved rock! Drove from nebraska Friday night after work, hoteled, and picked it up Saturday morning then jetted back home. 200 miles won't kill you. lol have fun!

Thanks. On longer rides I've always taken my old Honda Hurricane (1990 CBR1000F) - that's a big, comfortable do-all bike. But I DO want to get in one good longer ride on the Buell before I sell it. It's such a cool bike....wish I had the budget to keep both bikes. Mine has the factory saddlebags on it, which look great and have a bit of space for a few things.

Yeah, I've ridden out there once already this season. Last weekend we rode along route 2 from Rockford (by the airport) to Dixon. I think that ride was the best one I've done in Illinois.....

Great ride today. The Buell was awesome. Cruised between 80-90 on the way home...just humming along. Pretty big group...8 riders.
