Been there and it is nice, but not as good as I had hoped. Plus it is a damn fortune to do anything
too touristy for me and expensive....no shit, 7 bucks for a 1.5l bottle of water when I was there in 2000.

You want fun and adventure, hit up New Zealand,
(don't let earthquakes scare ya off).
Pacific coast of Costa Rica is pretty nice too.

Stay away from Hawaii tho, it's getting dosed with too much fallout from Fukushima.

I second that. Did a semester of study abroad in New Zealand; in my opinion one of the coolest places in the world.

or you could try springboro, pennsylvania.. we have a bar that serves mini tacos. ;)

The wife and I just got back from Oahu for our honeymoon. we stayed at Turtle Bay for a week. And all i can say is the north shore is AMAZING!!! Beautiful, chill, quiet, and the locals are some of the nicest people we've ever meet.
If you are more into nightlife, clubs and whatnot. Honolulu or Waikiki night be for you. We are more on the mellow side.
But North Shore has tons of stuff to do, surfing, snorkeling, scuba, kayak, all kinds of good stuff.
Our trip ran us just under $4,000 for hotel, flight, and rental car. We flew out of San Francisco, not sure if itll be different from where you are.

xtremelow: Go to www.Resortvacationstogo.com. If you find something you like on there you can give them a call and set it up and it should be even cheaper than it was online. My wife and I went to Cancun for a week all inclusive with air and it was like $2,700! That was almost 3 years ago though. Good luck on your search. It will be a time to remember.

So long as you guys are willing to be a bit more flexible, you can probably reach some more exotic locations.

Thailand is an amazing place. Especially Chiang Mai in the North, and Phuket in the South. It can be very cheap to do things there (as is the case with most Southeast Asian nations that I've had the pleasure of traveling to). Flight and lodging would be the only real expense for you. Bali in Indonesia would be another good destination to consider while you're in the area. Amazing people, amazing food, amazing culture.

Another place to check out is the Cyclades Islands in Greece. While Mykonos and Santorini are the most well-known, for my money, Ermoupolis on the island of Syros is heaven for me. The town is very cool, the fish is fresh, the ouzo is flowing, and the people are generous to travelers in ways that we Americans cannot even begin to comprehend. It may not be tropical, but it's an excellent place to kick up your feet, enjoy the 24/7 Mediterranean breeze, eat enough good food to go into a coma, and relax with a glass of retsina.

[up][up] also cambodia and vietnam great people, great food and great beaches.hawaii is nice but everyone and theyre grandmother has been there

Airfare to Greece, Hawaii, or New Zealand are crazy so we are going to try and keep it to S. Amer. or Central America.

Costa Rica is a definite possibility.

I think we are still a couple months away from even being able to see flights yet, since BuellChick may push the Honeymoon back to Sept. as flights drop drastically in comparison to summer months.

Good flights to Europe can be found. My wife and I traveled LAX to ATL to Rome and returned Athens to ATL to LAX August 09 with no more than a two hour layover for $620 round trip per person. Just have to be patient.

I want a place I can snorkel, all-inclusive, and trying to keep cost total below $4k
Send me $3995 and you're golden! I live in San Diego, you can stay in my guest house, I'll give you a car to use, snorkeling gear and the use of my 9R or Daytona 675. Oh and I'm a great cook! You wont go hungry! Water temps should be in the 70's (hopefully) :)

We were married in hurricane season as well and we went to Aruba. We loved it! Of course that was in 1999 so I'm not sure if it's still a great place to go...

LOL I was thinking the same but Miami. I'll even throw in fishing/diving and a booze cruise.
