I thought it would be a good idea to create another thread/topic rather than thread-jack buellbradski's thread by adding a bunch of pictures.

I've used my GoPro for doing video while riding (both on my Buell and Specialized), driving or filming events. It's been used to take pictures. And I've also been doing some work with timelapse photography.

Here are some screenshots while on the Buell...

Very cool - I just bought a Hero3 Black. I haven't read the directions yet though - LOL! I managed to get one halfway decent video though. Where is yours mounted?

If the Hero 2 is any indicator then the Hero3 should be really nice.

And to answer your question, I have two mounts on my helmet, one on top and one on the right side.
I prefer to use the top mount the most, especially for commuting. This gives a larger visual field of what's going on in front of me and also makes it easy to look at what's going on around me.
The right side mount gives a different vantage point, which I do like, however, I feel it blocks the field of view to the left.

Here are some examples of the side mount...

Some wet weather fun...

And, yes, I have done the headlight mod. I just wasn't running the high beam.

I got a GoPro Hero 3 black edition for my birthday last weekend. Once I figure out how to work it properly, pics and video will be soon to follow ha.

Very nice. The Hero3 is on the "someday wish list" right now, but definitely looking forward to seeing some videos and pictures. [up]

So I went and bought the suction cup mount for my GoPro and attached it to the front windshield of the bike (it sticks on there really really tight by the way). Did a quick little test ride down my rode and back. Watched the footage and it's incredibly blurry, it's almost hard to watch. Is it because I mounted it the windshield and it has some flex in it under wind? I figured you may know or have some advice tx because of all the awesome shots and the pictures on IG. Thanks.

Thanks.

The blurry footage is most likely from vibration. I mounted one on my airbox cover and the image was pretty good. I've also used the suction cup mount on my vehicle inside and outside without any issues with the image. If the suction cup is mounted solid on something where there isn't a ton of vibration then the image should be pretty good. There might be a little vibration seen in the image, but should be good overall.

If you use the regular flat or curved adhesive mounts I highly recommend using the little u-shaped rubber clip/plug. That one little piece makes a huge difference in the image quality.

I should have asked first, was the suction cup mounted inside or outside the windscreen?

I've done some decent work with my Canon Rebel XTi but the GoPro is so much more versatile and durable. I can get shots with it that I can't, or don't want to attempt, with my Canon. Maybe I should have titled this thread, "SilveradoTX's GoPro Adventures" or something like that.

Here are some more screen shots for those who haven't seen/can't see them on Instagram.

I mounted it on the airbox the other day. The quality was better than the first video. I liked it better because you could see the handle bars and my hands and through the front windshield. I was impressed of how wide a view the GoPro has so close like that. Now my next task is trying to figure out how to work the cineform editer. What do you use TX?

Cool. Glad mounting on the airbox worked well. [up]

I use Cineform to edit clips or to do my time-lapse photography (below). I've not done anything too crazy with it yet. Cineform also helps you know when there's an update for your camera.

Yeah I saw that it helps with the updates, that is a relief. I updated it without having downloaded cineform and it was a P.I.T.A.!

what setup are you running for the rotation? Old kitchen timer?
Your are correct.

I had the idea and then did some google/youtube-ing just to see what was being done.
Took a kitchen timer out of the plastic and super-glued a nut to the bottom of the bell that would fit the thread on the tripod. Then attached a GoPro flat mount to the top of the timer. The current setup works and get's the job done (quite well, too), but I would like to make one that's more solid and secure.
I'll post some pictures of my current setup when I get a chance.

You'd be correct.

One of the many reasons I like riding with a camera... you never know what you might catch. And for someone like me who likes weather this was fantastic. Would have been better with my rain gear on...
