Got another ticket.

Yeah, I tried fighting a ticket in Michigan. Absolute waste of a day. The officer was pretty much lying through his teeth about the obstructions that were in his way (when he drew his little diagram on the whiteboard he didn't even get what direction we were traveling correct.) And the Magistrate couldn't have cared less about what I had to say.

If there was anything between you and the officer, power poles, trees, guard rails, etc bring pictures of them. As stated previously, don't admit to even going 1MPH over the limit.

So if I go to court and show the judge what I think and lose, it will cost me the ticket plus extra for the court fee??? I'm getting scared now :( I feel cheated and violated and also feel like I can do nothing about it.

Rage!

135mph in a 70mph (i have never seen a cop get back in his car, turn around and catch up so fast, it was mind bottling) just west of MT. Clemens, MI by Michigan State police. No ticket verbal warning: " Slow the #$@&% down, sir" (military id saved my butt, wheew!!) Dont worry no more speed runs for me.

Trill;
(going by the Michigan experience) There is no court fees. Most you will have to pay is what the ticket is for.

only thing I can suggest is to have a prepared diagram of the situation (if that helps your claim). The last time I had challenged an officer, the judge was pleased to see that I was prepared. In the end, I still received the ticket... just to a lesser charge which I had agreed to.

Good luck buddy!

One last piece to add... I did contest a ticket in Wisconsin. I slid into someone in my car. Ended up getting a ticket for care required or some BS like that. I filed a court date, but they told me to call the District Attorney a week before. I gave the dude a call, and he reduced the ticket to a city ordnance violation. It cost me a couple bucks more, but being a non-moving violation, it never ended up on my DMV report. [up]

It never hurts to ask.
