Last week I did about a six hour ride and decided it was time to get rid of the stock seat. I read as many reviews as possible and it came down to the Corbin, Buell select and the Saddlemen. I read alot of complaints about the corbins lack of padding and the Buell Select is getting harder to find and outrageously priced for a used seat. So I decided on the saddlemen I wanted the most comfortable seat possible regardless of anything else (grip, looks, price etc). So after reading some posts I decided on the tech seat. I ordered it from America Sportbike. They were great they sent me a few very polite emails about shipping info and my address i was very impressed. I ordered it on a Wednesday afternoon and received it the following Tuesday.

When installing the seat I ran into a bit of a fitment issue. It took quite a bit of muscle to get the seat installed properly. The center was too high to latch to the frame properly. This required me putting my body weight on the center to bend the seat down so that it could latch. I'm now worried about removing the seat for fear of having to put it back on. It also did not line up well with the airbox. It came with a cover for the rear seat that has a few gel pads on it. I suppose this would increase comfort for passengers a bit however it doesn't really fit well. I think that if I had a passenger for an extended period of time the cover would come off from their body shifting around. I rarely have a passenger though so it is more for looks than function.
The seat is extraordinarily comfortable. I went for about a two hour ride and never once got uncomfortable. It keeps me from slightly forward. It also raised me up about an inch, since I'm six foot this was ideal but i could see it being a problem for shorter riders.

Overall I am very happy with the product and ASB. My only worry is the problem with fitment. I'll be logging some serious miles this summer and I'll keep you updated on how this seat does on longer rides and holds up against weather.
