Buell crate cover

I had been watching this for a while on ebay and the price finally went down to what I wanted to pay. it now said free shipping but when the mail came they gave me a piece of paper that said come pick it up and pay the postage due

any ideas of how I should handle this?

They are not quick but you will get your money back. Send the other guy a message first letting him now what's going on and hopefully he will reimburse you himself before eBay takes a month then takes it from him to give to you.

Are you in the US? It said he shipped it from East Troy, but if it crossed any international borders, someone will probably have to pay customs duties. If that's the case, it isn't anyone's fault besides the government. It's just how it works.

What he did was screw up when he listed his items. He forgot to add actual shipping cost. You'll get your money back but not the cover. Unless you offer to pay the shipping.

I actually bought one of these along with the buell ratchet straps. All came about a week after buying it. No problems here at all with this guy. nice item.

Did he give you guys free shipping for $20 per cover? He probably lost a ton if he did and is now regretting it :)

Definitely do this first as he's got 100% feedback - meaning he either did this on accident OR he'll probably be very willing to work this out to keep a clean record.

If you paid with paypal it shouldn't be any problem at all to get your money back. Contact them directly not ebay. If you paid any other way I have no advice.
Good luck

Yea, im really surprised at how many adults are scared to approach another adult to talk about policy, its a wonder we ever made it out of caves. People get all pissed off when its just a simple miss communication. Im not saying that's what happened here but i have seen it happen this year several times. I'm just stupefied.[smirk]

^ ^ [up] ain't that the truth!

Anyway, most every eBay seller's is going to make good on this. It can't be a huge amount of money. With you I know it is a matter of principle. Communicate with the seller until you are satisfied. They will fix it.

I went ahead and ordered one for myself, with out even seeing how this turned out, because i know things like this happen a lot, miss communication that is, and i'm certain it will all work out as long as i'm open to communicate. In the future i would not start off assuming he was trying to rip you off, because if it was a simple ebay error you could have tainted his name for no reason, he may be one of those guys that goes over and above to fix everything, then you would feel like ****. For saying he was trying to rip you off. You know what im saying.;) Exercise more patience. Anyway does anyone have a pic of their crate cover?

I also bought from this guy without any problems. Great item.
Must be an error on his part, contact him to sort it out.

Hey does it say buell on both sides? I hope so because it would look great in my shop. I could cut it in to, and have two big banners.

I bought stuff from a guy on ebay, he sent wrong parts. I kindly told him about it and offered him a chance to correct the problem before I leave negative feedback. He went postal and threatened negative feedback if I did it to him. He sent the right parts and I left neutral feedback. I don't know why he went postal on me.

It has 2 sides that have the Buell logo on it you just have to cut the sides off.

Here is the best pic of mine that I have right now. Pic was taken when my bike was being rebuilt excuse her nakedness.

I was thinking of getting one of these for my shop too, but didn't know if 20 was to much. Let me know if the shipping cost was a mess up. If he pays shipping I'll go ahead and get on too.[cool]

Anybody have an update on the shipping cost with this eBay seller. Still looking at getting one of these.

This was more of an impulse vent post. I had to pay $5.80 shipping to pick it up from usps. He said he has shipped over a hundred and never had a problem.

It was in a flat rate envelope. post office said the envelope can't change shape or size. Maybe got away with it the last hundred times who knows. He offered no solution though. Whatever. Not sure what I'm doing about posting feedback.
